injury prone? lol AD is one of the few in the nba who will play while injured so that means nothing, if he's not playing it's because he probably can't walk.
i wouldn't call him an average player either. Here's some pro's and con's.
Cons
-stone hands, can't catch the ball unless his body is facing the direction of the ball
-6'9" at the C pos.
-not agile at all, hurts his post game, finishing around the bucket, and fast break.
Pros:
-will work like no man has worked before
-plays good position ball, helps his rebounding on both sides and makes up for his lack of height
-can hit the 15 footer (two years ago, playoffs)
-goes up strong to the basket and dunks with 2 hands while being fouled
-can faceup on big C's
-top 5 rebounder in the league, maybe not stats wise but he's top 5
-good freethrow shooter
really he's an guy that takes his lunch pail to work every day and there are few like him. Most fans won't appreciate what he does on the court or his value to a team but that's just because he's not flashy and doesn't come with a sprite advertisment.
Some guys will dunk over you, some will go around you, others will change their angle in mid air. He doesn't make people look silly or fake them out. He will go through you, dunk it on you, and make the freethrow.
i could pretty much do this for every underrated player in the nba that people don't think are top players in the league, remember it's a team game and what a player does for a team is more important then how good he is solo. most nba fans now spend more time watching the sprite and nike commercials then the game, or they never see a guy on a highlight reel so they think he's just an average player.
