Kobe Bryant Takes 34 Shots to get 41 Points - Disappointing

Those of you who have seen my posts know I'm not a Kobe *****.

After watching the 4th quarter of tonight's game I was disgusted with the selfishness of Kobe in the final minutes of the game against the Sonics. Going for his 40th point, while the Lakers only had an 8 point lead with up to 3 minutes to go, Kobe took shot after shot while being double teamed (and kept missing).

He obviously cared more about getting his 40th point instead of securing the win. Go for your 40th point when you know your team has won but not when your being double teamed and your team may just barely win.

Even the announcers mentioned how disgusting it was. Sick, sick, sick. This whole 40-point thing has become a distraction for Bryant and he needs to worry more about winning than about his stat sheet.

He was only 13-34 from the field tonight. It dosen't take long to figure out you're having a bad night and that you should try and pass it more than usual.

ehhhh...... i was watching the game too. And i admit 100% he forced it hard down the stretch, but then again his teammates were also force feeding him and the crowd was all over him to get 40. His first 39 points were in flow, but I admit he was clearl forcing it to get that 40th. However, he wouldn't have cost his team a win. Kobe is human and tonight for the last 4 minutes he got caught up in the record thing. Nevertheless, an impressive game by him, (if u ignore the last 4 minutes)

i agree to an extent... but i didnt watch the game i only saw the gamecast on espn. i dont think the star player taking six shots in the fourth quarter is a big deal. when he is penalised however is when he doesnt make them i think kobe was one for six in the fourth.

u do know the lakers won right, and they have been winning during his streak so ts okay for kobe to keep the record going, if they were losing, then it is something else

what else are you suppose to do when you are one point away from tieing a record with the greatest player in NBA history. not only that, the lakers did win. the crowd also encourages kobe to do it, and not just the staples center crowd, but also the away crowds

yah, but u didn't see what kind of shots they were. I mean they were HARDCORE forces, off balance, double teamed, left handed etc... it was a little crazy, but like i said, no biggie. The lakers won again. 11-2 during Kobe's streak.

If the Sonics 3pt shooters would have hit the shots that they normally hit, it would've been really close, probably would've won. Not to mention that Ray Allen blown layup, DOH! ......Anyone else agree with me that Allen has to be the worst on the ball defender in the league, or up there. He's a GREAT scorer but his defense is holding him back.
