    Troy Hudson to the Warriors

    Sep 23, 2007 12:29am ET
    Report: Warriors to Sign Hudson
The SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE writes, “The Warriors have reached an agreement with point guard Troy Hudson on a one-year deal and are expected to sign him Monday, a league source confirmed. Hudson, 31, a 10-year veteran, will make the league minimum of $1.2 million after receiving a hefty buyout from Minnesota in the summer. He averaged 5.9 points and 2.1 assists in 34 games last season and posted career-bests of 14.2 points and 5.7 assists as the full-time starter for the Timberwolves in 2002-03.”

Great move if Hudson's head is in the right place. Warriors basically had no backup to Baron last year. This move is just like what the Jazz did with signing Jason Hart. Both clubs didn't have a backup ball handler, and that really cost both teams in the playoffs.

    yawn.

Hudson USED to be good. However We needed a veteran ball handler who could play in nellies system, hudsons turnovers worry me tho.

Also i really want to see how many minutes monta gets at the 1, because he needs to work on his desicion making... might be alot of DNP's for hudson.

either way we got a decent backup who can push it and handle the rock better then cabbages could

Yeah neither Sarunas nor Monta is a one. So that's why I like the Hudson move. GSW you would know though, you really think Monta is a true point guard? I think it'd be silly to put him there, it would really take away his scoring instincts. I would keep him at the two strictly to create and get points.

He'll hit some threes occassionally. Nothing else he does really impresses me. Might be a good spark off the bench, though.

If hes healthy it is a good move. Hudson can run the uptempo offense, drain the three ball, and can pass the rock. If hes not healthy its about the same as having Sarunas last year just a whole lot cheaper.

I like it, they let Serunis go, and there were rumblings about getting the Glove to come in. I like Troy behind Baron better though

with the offense we have i dont tihnk monta needs to be a "true" point... hes about as much as a point guard that tony parker is... he needs to improve his ball handling... hes obviously a scorer.

I think its imperative he learn how to create offense for his teamates tho,(which is why i think he should/will get some minutes at the backup pg spot) since he can basically get into the paint at will... id rather him not be a one dimensional player, and learn to become a playmaker.

I dont need nor want him to become a steve nash/jason kidd/deron williams type.. just want to see some ball handling consistency, and smart passes when penetrating.

Worthless signing. His rap career seems more important to him than his NBA career. He will hurt himself and be out for the season before the ink on his contract dries.

Hudson's best year was in 2004 when the T-wolves made the WCF and he stepped in for Cassell. Since then he has barely played and couldnt get clock on the lowely T-wolves, so i dont expect anything much from him this upcoming year

As some of you guys have said its the turnovers that are a worry. He seems pretty good at passing the ball to the 3rd or 4th row
