I'm not going to slam Kobe, because yes, most players in the league would be doing much the same as he is. But does that make it right? Didn't everyone's parents tell them when they were five years old that "everyone else is doing it" is not a valid excuse?

Ray Allen admitting that he'd be more concerned with getting his 10th assist than winning the damn game is even worse. The Sonics were behind, not the Lakers...obviously I give a player on the team with the lead more leeway to pad his stats, but I still don't like it.

I've always preferred team basketball. Now believe me, I know that the NBA is not exactly a team-first league. But even Kobe admitted that what he did was selfish and apologized to his teammates. The "me first" mentality of NBA players, and the superstar mentality of the league and its teams are two primary reasons that many casual sports fans can't get into the NBA.

Well, after see the title of the article:

Lakers move into seventh place in Western Conference

I think that's the only thing that matters and they continue to move up for a spot in the playoffs.
