Ya, good win by the Lakers, I would say great but they should have put them away earlier. Kobe didn't have the greatest game, but he did what was needed to get the W. That reverse dunk was sick. And that 3 at the end should have counted, plus the foul. That was such a horrible call. I didn't understand it. It was clearly continuation. Dumb refs. Anyhow, he made history again. Great job Lakers and Kobe.

Oh, and Mad Dog is funny as hell. First the shoe, then the sock.

It was like he had no personality, plus his eyes are too close together. He said when he was in 5th grade, he hit a pole in gym class and the teacher called him Mad Dog for somereaosn and it jus stuck...wtf?

So...if you look at it that way, there are no records, just stats. Perhaps Hank Aaron played more games than Babe Ruth did to get the HR record...does that make it a stat?

Ok look at is this way. He didnt get the record out of skill but more out of timing. He came to the NBA earlier than those before him, he is a decent scorer it was always going to happen.

Kobe is what in his 7th season? Check his scoring totals in his first 7 seasons to that of Abdul Jabbar's or Jordan's or Shaq's and you will see he is a ways behind. It's just because he came in so young.

That's why I dont think it is really a record but more of an interesting stat.

Besides how long will he hold onto it? T-Mac is just shy of 8,000 points with still 20 games of the season to go. Going by his average he should score around 600 more points this season. Leaving him with around 8,500 points at seasons end. He is a year younger than Kobe so he has a chance at snatching the interesting stat next season.

Then of course their is Lebron.

That's true, but there's also Kevin Garnett, and Moses Malone, and all those other cats that came in really young too. You don't see those guys having that record. It's really no big deal tho. Just something else he can tell his kids and grandkids. I think LeBron or Tmac will get it from Kobe.
