The MVP is Tim Duncan, NOT Kobe!

I don't get it with these stupid debates. I was watching ESPN and they are just totally clueless when it comes to watching basketball. The award is for the most valuable player. Meaning without that particular player, the team cannot win. So, let's break in down into these categories, shall we?

Does the team solely depend on that particular player to make everyone else better, meaning they DO NOT have a second top 5 or top 10 player on their team?
So we have the following, Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, Allen Iverson, and T-Mac are the only ones to fit this category. Kobe is already eliminated.

What's the team win/loss record with this particular player?
This eliminates both Phili and Orlando because they both are at or below .500. Kobe is also eliminated with a 5-10 record. Do you honestly think (to the Kobe fans) that Duncan would be 5-10 if he were on the Lakers instead of Kobe and Shaq?

    Strength of competition?
Again this eliminates any team in the east. There are really only two people who are even a discussion for this award. That is Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett.

    MVP:
Duncan wins only because he has a better record than Garnett. They both are basically even with team talent and strength of competition.

Why start a debate about this if you think they are stupid?

                Tim Duncan or Kevin Garnett.

If the Magic start streaking... T-Mac.

If Kobe continues to score 40 points for the next 20 or so games, he'll get the MVP.

The MVP should be Garnett, but if anyone is second it would be Duncan. Next would be Kidd and then if the Lakers don't make the playoffs it'd be McGrady next with Kobe following.

It's too early to predict who's the mvp.
" I look at him and it's getting to the point where it's just scaring me. He looks younger but he doesn't carry himself in a younger manner. He's impressive, and I'm glad we drafted him. "
                        - Lavar Arrington on his new Redskins teammate Sean Taylor.

Ahh so your opinion that is the only one that matters when it comes to MVP talk.

Jump off that high horse... Oh and this is coming from a Spurs and Duncan fan who disagrees wtih you.
