Question for some of you guys.....
I love Kevin Durant, I watched him play a lot last year and I preety much follwed him, I know he hasn't played a single game yet, I think if someone asked me in the furture who my favorite player in the leauge is I will be saying Durant. The reason being, I love his game a alot, grwoing up my favorite player ever was Clyde Drexler, Durant reminds me a lot of Clyde. I was a huge Portland fan growing up and then became a Rockets fan, I believe having a favorite player in the NBA and not a team, so when Drexler left portland and got traded to Houston, I then liked Houston... When Clyde retired I still follwed Houston for a while, not much after, I just watched the NBA, then I started to follow the Knicks and just figured I would Root for the Knicks since there my home town team, and because I like D-Lee too..... Any my main question is, Do guys have a favorite player but root for another tea,. or have a favorite player and just root for who that player is playing for?N.Y Mets
N.Y Giants
N.Y Knicks
N.Y Islanders
Miami Hurricanes

Re: Question for some of you guys.....
When I was younger it was 100% the Knicks all the time, but that's because they were my favorite team (in all of sports) and Ewing was my favorite player.
One Ewing retired (and Jordan too) and the NBA started to suck I stopped following the Knicks and the league as closely. Coincidentally it was the same time that UConn started churning out good pro players and became a national powerhouse. Before I knew it all my winters nights were spent watching UConn and other college games and the Knicks and the NBA faded.
So these days I root for any UConn player in the league but the Knicks are still #1."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: Question for some of you guys.....
For me the Celtics have been my favorite team since 1980.
That being said I really like TMAC alot! I dont know what it is but for some reason I started following his career when he was a rookie and I still follow him to this day.
This may change some this year as I think the Celts are going to be getting most of me "NBA Time".ND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment

Re: Question for some of you guys.....
I too follow mostly players than teams. Back in the day before free agency, team and player was synonymous. If you liked Larry Bird then you would be a celtics fan because Byrd would never be traded, if you liked Magic then you were a Lakers fan because Magic would never be traded, and so on and so on. I think being a fan of the home team is outdated because most players themselves aren't loyal to any team anymore (it would seem that anyone can be traded nowadays at anytime.)
Well, I was a Jordan Fan living in NY. I liked the Knicks because they practiced 10 minutes from my house (Suny Purchase), I used to see Starks and Greg Anthony etc...in the Galleria in White Plains, all the time. But I was a Jordan Fan, so I liked the Bulls. After Jordan retired, I went back to being a Knicks fan (for the most part). Again, when I am home, I see these guys in the Westchester, and Galleria all the time.
I too like Durant, and if he realizes the potential that he seems to have I could be a fan of his down the road. Right now though Kobe is my favorite player, but since he himself doesn't like the Lakers, I sure don't.Comment

Re: Question for some of you guys.....
I'm more of a T-Mac fan rather than a Houston Rockets fan but it has now all come together and will root for the Rockets if even Mac were to go somewhere else. *knocks on wood*Originally posted by EWRMETSMaybe the best post in OS's history. Re: Question for some of you guys.....
I'm a Pistons fan (the Knicks mean nothing to me! Stop it!) but I've always loved Michael Jordan. I live in Israel so most NBA games are aired when it's 2-4am here (except for Sundays). When a Bulls game was aired here live there was no question that I'm gonna get up in the middle of the night to see him. Nothing would stop me - not high school, not the army and not work. Nothing! He was the biggets enemy of my Pistons but I hated seeing him losing. MJ forever! My Specs:

Re: Question for some of you guys.....
My favorite player in the league is TMac, from his Orlando Magic days. I still root for the Magic as my number one team, but the Rockets are a team I follow closely as well.
I just think he's got a really good personality, plays basketball the right way, and is a great teammate. I hope everything comes together soon for him and the Rockets.Comment

Re: Question for some of you guys.....
Laker fan, but KG is my favorite player, its much harder now to pull for him since he is on the hated Celtics, but my wish to see him win a title is bigger than my hate for the Celtics.
Boston hasn't been Boston for a very long time, not just in terms of not winning, but also in terms of having players that you love to hate.Jordan Mychal Lemos
