Can't really say, as he would probably play a very different style without the thoughts of injury in the back of his mind.

        I'm extremely biased, but....

Back in his Orlando days (pre-injury) he was a top 5 guy, and made a strong case for best player in the league when he was averaging something like 30-6-6 and turning it up in the playoffs.

Add to that his increased passing ability, defense, maturity, and overall basketball IQ that he has gotten since coming to Houston, and I'd say the guy could arguably be the best player in the league.

You could throw around alotta ifs about so many players, facts are facts.

With that said I think he would definitely be in the same breath as Lebron and Kobe as far as swingmen.

The thing is, he still is in that league with Kobe/LeBron he just doesn't get the same praise.

Problem with Tmac is when his jumpshot isnt falling...He keeps shooting! His lane driving ability has taken a hit for the past two years(understandably due to his back) but thats just another reason why hes not on the level of upper-echelon combo guards. All that said..I think hes 4th behind Kobe, Wade, Lebron.

I don't see it. But that doesn't mean he's second-rate by any means. One of the top players no doubt in the league, I guess I'm just blinded by his lack of playoff success.

I think without injuries, TMac is the best all-around basketball player in the league. Defense, shooting, passing, leadership... he has it all.

The back injury certainly changed his style of play, but TMac was the best SG in the league when he was on Orlando a few years back, averaging 32, 6 and 6 with no help around him, leading that team to the playoffs.

His game is now less oriented on driving/post play and more on shooting jumpers and setting up teammates, mainly because of his nagging back. But if he ever gets that injury out of the back of his mind, the league really needs to start worrying less about the Spurs and Suns and more about the Rockets.

I don't think so, I'm not sure he has the killer instinct to be considered the best.

Kobe has yet to get the Lakers out of the first round (without Shaq, mind you). Just sayin'.

I think he lacks that instinct b\c of his injury...........if you watch early T-Mac hes driving to the basket every other possession
