Team Scouting Reports from Sports Illustrated

Some very good analysis of players and teams from NBA scouts. These guys aren't pumping any sunshine up any body's skirt here. They're calling like they see it.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

I think that's right. Davis was the guy that carried that team in the postseason but Jason Richardson is the purer scorer. They lost their go-to-guy. But, it's not like Baron Davis can't pick up the slack.

I was a little surprised with the Nets ranking. Yea, they didn't have a strong 2006-07 season but they added size and some pieces to the bench. SI has them finishing out of the playoff race, though, outside of the Knicks (never know with them) it's hard to argue against any of the other top 8 teams.

And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

This is much better than their previous Previews. Before they would have maybe 5-6 sentences on "An opposing team's scout sizes up...". Now they have full articles. This is good.

I think what's posted here is a very fair and reasonable assessment of the Pistons. Good find, jfsolo.

The Warriors can't win when Davis scores 30. They need more fire power and Richardson was what they needed. I tell ya, they're gonna have a bad season because of that trade because Ellis can't score like J-Rich and it will put more pressure on Jackson, so if Jackson has troubles again the Warriors are gonna have a tough season IMO. Belinelli may be great or may be a disappointment. We'll see...

Damn, I'm gonna be like DC and read all these things lol.

Whoever did the Sixers' analysis got them down to a freakin' T.

This person even pointed out that Korver isn't the defensive liability that many people think he is. Finally, somebody agrees with me.

KK doesn't need to run. Just want him to shoot the rock

The Rockets one was surprisingly uninformative. They go into great in-depth analysis on what the expect of Yao and his potential strengths and limitations. That part was great. With everyone else they basically say that their attitude is a crapshoot and "will chemistry be a problem?" and "Is there enough basketballs?". Great analysis of the big guy, but that is it.

What about our defensive liabilities at point guard? Will Scola fill our power forward problem? Will T-Mac thrive in this offense? How will Francis in a system where he can not dominating the ball?
