Knicks actually look good. Shorter rotation. Scoring in the post. Another big who can rebound. Just need to shore up that perimeter D.
Randolph and Curry could be a dominating duo in the East. Just need solid play from the backcourt all season.

I understand Portland needed to cut ties with Randolph.. but DAMMMN they were had in that trade.

The game against the Cavs pissed me off. We played really well in that game for 3.5 quarters but Gibson absolutely went off and we couldn't stop him. Or else we would be 3-0.

Knicks will be contending for a playoff spot(8 or 7). I know it is early, but I really like Curry and Randolph down low, especially in the East. We'll see, but I think they are better than most people think.

              Re: **Knicks vs. Nuggets**

Yeah, this Curry Randolph thing works out great. Isiah has devised a scheme to make it work, and I've seen it a few times already. They work by mismatches for the first post up, and when the opponents double team they swing it to the top and right back down to the guy on the other block from the top of the key with that pass that people complain about in 2k. The double team comes from an angle that leaves that space open, and it always results in a foul. Eddy is too strong and Zach is too skilled to defend in that situation, because the double team causes one of them to get about 4 feet from the basket. It's very good Xs and Os coaching.

As for the Nuggets, as I predicted, their D is shyte. That's not going to fly in the playoffs. What's even scarier is the fact that George Karl was talking about offense in the post game talk, when the fact of the matter is Denver could not stop the Knicks all game. The only drought was when we had a few consecutive in and outs around the basket. There was no defense for Denver at all besides Camby changing shots. And both Curry and Randolph abused him in their rare one on one situations. So here you have Camby can change shots, but they don't have a low post defender until Kenyon gets back. Karl better start coaching, or this denver team will be very disappointing.

                Re: **Knicks vs. Nuggets**

Very pleased with tonight's win and I like what I'm seeing from the team so far this year. I know it is way early in the season but I see a very bright future for the team soon (if not this year def next). I think it's really funny how most people see the results of the games last year and think oh they suck or they will never be good.

The thing is, and anybody who watched all the games last year will tell you, that as the season went on, the team got better in a lot of areas until we lost Crawford. If they can shore up the perimeter D, and Zeke sticks to the 8 man rotation, this team will contend for a middle number playoof spot.

I hate to say it but the Knicks might just own us in the post if we ever had to play them. Them boys looked sexy tonight. Horrible free throw shots and they still pulled it off. Go figure. I honestly can't stop thinking how great the turnaround potential seems to be for this season. One question I have for you guys. Do you think they should have still fired Larry Brown? If Isaiah gets them into the second round of the playoffs, I might be bitter from the Curry trade eventually. By the way, do the Bulls still have another pick of the Knicks this upcoming year?

                    Z-Bo is an ANIMAL

That is all. We got him for Channing "softest 6'10 human being on the face of the Earth" Frye? Are you kidding me? That was straight robbery.

I love Balkman too, that dude just knows how to play.

Oh, Knicks picks to the Bulls are gone And I hated Larry Brown too

That was a dissapointing game.AI stepped big time, Melo was all right, Nene is out of shape, Camby got outmuscled, K-Mart was resting, we miss our two point guards. As soon as we start playing some serious defense this team will be allright. The camp was all about defense, but I don't see it. K-Mart is a difference maker when it comes to defense.

Overrated? ..a team with 2 players that can score 60 on you every night and with two defensive specialists in Camby and K-Mart is not overrated.

But I agree, Karl needs to start coaching or they should bring Larry Brown in.

                      I'm serious.

Yes the are over rated. All offensive no d, which will kill them in the West.
The dont have two defensive specialist! K-Mart is no longer a d specialist.

Last night was probably the most excited I've been watching a Knick game in damn near a decade. However the problem still looms from last year - we'd see a game similar to this and then three straight duds. We need to be able to do this consistently which is going to be a huge challenge.

Balkman though, damn! I love watching him play.

Cosign. Some people have them in the Finals. Ludicrous at this stage. Not only did they get killed in the first round, but they still look like they'd get killed in the first round by SA or Phoenix if the playoffs started today. Both of those teams have better offense and defense than the Nuggets. Denver scores a lot because they run up the score, but when other teams get stops, they can't get stops. Their offensive power is neutralized because they boost the offense of the other team with their D. I'd take the Rockets over Denver right now. Utah too. In fact:

                            1. Spurs
                            2. Suns
                            3. Jazz, Rockets, Mavs
                            6. Denver

So yeah, they are real overrated right now, because every other team in the playoffs plays better D than them by far, and they aren't bad offense teams either. They'll get to the second round only because they'll get a favorable matchup in the first round because of their regular season talent. Denver is a one trick pony. Shoot Shoot Shoot. They obviously have the talent to win games, but right now they aren't on the radar with the gameplan they are using. They'd better hope Kenyon is still a great interior defender, because there are a lot of big men in the league right now waiting to do what Eddy and Zach did to them.

To be fair, they've been pretty consistent so far. Zach plays better D than we thought and he boards every game. Jamal has shot well and at times defended much better than last year. Eddy has been tough inside. Nate, David and recently Balk have been great off the bench in all three games. Steph is the only one who has been inconsistent, and that's a good thing, because his D has picked up since that atrocious showing against Boobie in game one. I said it after the T'Wolves game. If they play exactly the way they are playing now consistently, they will make the playoffs. If they improve their perimeter D, they'll get a fifth or a sixth seed.

Detroit and Boston are going to have a great regular season, but if you look at the rest of the teams, you'll see a bunch of teams whose records will suffer from the parity in the East. Again, this is all if they continue to play as they are. The fact of the matter is if they kill guys inside and rebound without turning the ball over (sans last night) that is what wins games. The free throws and perimeter D have to get better for them to be better than an eighth seed.

It has been better so far this year, absolutely. But it's only three games and Denver was the first good team we faced. IMO we should beat a team like CLE and we should have on opening night. I'm as excited as any other Knicks fan, but I'm not saying we're a lock for the postseason yet. I'm also concerned about the 8-man rotation and how long-term fatigue will effect us.
