    Is Steve Francis Done?

Steve Francis can't even crack the Rockets' rotation. Rick Adelman has said that he had brought in Steve Francis with the expectation he'd be in the starting line up. However, apparently he has been outplayed by Rafer Alston, Luther Head, and Mike James throughout the preseason.

Is Steve Francis done? Will he ever climb his way back to respectability?

People keep saying that he's lost a lot of quickness to age. But the guy is only 30 friggin' years old! This isn't football; it's basketball. Players are typically still in their prime at 30 years old. Other guards with similar quickness have remained explosive at and beyond 30 years old, including: Steve Nash, Jason Kidd, Gary Payton, Allen Iverson, Sam Cassell, Tim Hardaway, Michael Jordan, and just about 80% of perennial All-Star guards in the past 20 years. I don't think age becomes a major factor until a player passes 32 years old. In contrast, Steve Francis has been "over the hill" since the age of 28.

What's the real reason Steve Francis is in such a funk? Was he never really any good to begin with? Is he one of those players that look really good on a bad team, but are exposed when playing on a talented roster? (*cough* Cuttino Mobley * cough *)

He's in the doghouse because of being out of shape. I think eventually he'll find a spot in the rotation.

Wait wait wait, are you implying Cat has been exposed?

If 'Chise can't crack the rotation, I'm gonna say he has two years max left. It really says something when you can't get PT over a Rucker League streetballer.

Who would have EVER thought his lover [Cat] will probably last longer and have the overall better career?

I hope that's true. But I don't think Francis will ever be a major factor for the Rockets this season. A veteran can't go from being a completely forgotten non-entity, to a major role player within months.

His 2007-8 season will probably look very much like Bonzi Wells' last season. Veteran comes in, out of shape, in the dog house, and unable to become a factor all year long.

Its looking like that. I hope he replaces Alston in the rotation, I thought he would have.

Its just odd...this guy was a all-star a few years back, at age 30 now and can barely see the court. He probably won't play much unless Head/Alston/James gets hurt then thats his chance to show he still has it.

I always thought Francis was overrated and had game like Penny.

Once the league found ways to keep him out of the lane, Steve Francis has been a nobody.

Haha, that three straight Knick fans were quick to shut his game down.

Steve Francis is a real professional. The moment his 'friend' Cuttino got traded Steve broke down and started to weep. His life has never been the same.

He doesn't seem to care anymore. No work ethic, no interest, etc. Just collecting his the remaining checks on his final contract, he's finished.
