Man, I don't know about that. KG has a set of skills that will bode well for him even as he declines. I think it will be a good 4-5 years before he begins to decline and even then he will bring things that Jefferson can't. Al will be a good player but I don't see NBA superstar just yet.

And to kill me, he's gonna have to have the heart to stand in front of me. And to do that, he's got to be willing to die himself. I don't know if he's ready to do that." -

Anytime you have three guys that average over 20 ppg it's very easy to win throw in a pg that will get 10 and a bench player that gets 10 and you will score around 100 every single game. I just don't see how people doubt the Celtics getting #1 seed in East, when you throw those factors in.18-1 hell of a season regardlessComment

Re: Celtics Have 77 at the Half
That's where I'm at. I'd like to see KG finally get his. People don't know what a mess 'Sota was, and that's without them having to face the Lakers, Spurs, Suns, Rockets, Mavs, Old Utah, New Utah, Old Sacramento...It's been a dominant conference, and they gave him a little talent to compliment him one year, only to not re-sign those guys after they made it to the conference Finals. His loyalty was unrewarded in Minny.Comment

Re: Celtics Have 77 at the Half
Hey, I'm happy.
But I do agree you guys are all vastly under rating Al. No other team in the league could offer what the C's did - a young future all star big man (he could be an all star THIS year if Minny does anything, if not he will be a Zach Randolph equivalent), a ton of young talent (Gerald Green - who knows, Ryan Gomes - solid for the next 10 years, Telfair - question mark but looks like he's starting to get it) PICKS, and expiring contract. They got a great package for KG.
But again, I am happy.
The dynasty will return
Paul Pierce... talent + heart + toughness = The Truth

Re: 77-38 at halftime!
Fans in Boston must be loving life right now."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: 77-38 at halftime!
Man, after seeing that score and some highlights it reminded me so much of the 96 Bulls team where they absolutely destroyed opponents at times. And then seeing the players on the bench later relaxing and laughing it up. You guys in Boston are in for a real treat this year.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

Re: 77-38 at halftime!
You're another *****, huh? Enough. Analysts were saying the Nuggets were supposed to be better than the Celtics this year. And yeah, they're a hell of team. But you need to give the Celtics full credit. They played unbelievable and forced Denver to play the way any team should be playing against our defense.Comment

Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: 77-38 at halftime!
I haven't watched anything since the first game, but I think the most important thing about the 07-08 Celtics is that they appear to have some direction defensively.
I think hiring Tom Thibodeau is the most underrated, yet important move they made in the off season. He was a Jeff Van Gundy disciple, so he should know a bit about defense. Obviously, Doc Rivers is incapable of doing this, but by getting somebody who is, it drastically increases the likelihood that the Celtics can go far in the playoffs.
I'm just glad that they are competitive again, to be honest. I'm also glad they got rid of that fool Tony Brown as assistant coach. I used to watch some games (not frequently) and see this bozo interviewed at half time, and never, not even once, did this guy provide any insightful comment, just cliched lines:
"Yeah we need to pick up the defensive intensity in the second half. The other team is defeating us on the boards."
I can't even imagine how worthless this guy was when trying to provide instruction to players. Good riddance to this ***.Comment
