Yes, the Bobcats should never have passed up on him for Ammo. -
Re: Brandon Roy is a G.
If someone who had never watched a basketball game before was asked which move was better...
A) Jordan's switch layup
B) Roy's last night
They would say Roy. That move was ridic."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

The Jordan move isn't as great as the hype it gets, but it was still way better than the Roy move. Oh well, to each his own.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Re: Brandon Roy is a G.
I disagree, there wasn't even a defender in Jordan's path. Jordan could have either dunked with his right or floated it in off the glass. Roy essentially did the same thing while alluding three defenders and if he didn't adjust his shot was getting blocked.
IMO, the Jordan layup is the most overrated play in the all of sports. I simply don't understand the hype around it.

Dude that Roy layup wasn't that great. It was nice but come on, you guys are in here acting like it hasn't ever been done before. I've seen Kobe do far more sick layups than that.
I'd go as far as saying MJ's layup against the Nets in Chicago is one of the hardest to top, let alone it doesn't get the hype.Comment

Re: Brandon Roy is a G.
It could be because Jordan's move was in the Finals against the Lakers...not some relatively meaningless game in December against the Raptors. Plus Jordan did it first. Creativity counts...I disagree, there wasn't even a defender in Jordan's path. Jordan could have either dunked with his right or floated it in off the glass. Its the amount of room he had to make the move in that makes it so great. I saw the game lastnight and the buzz in the crowd lasted like 2 more trips down floor.
Whoever said that the Roy lay up > than MJ I have to agree. The MJ one was a big deal because it was in the finals and it was MJ... But Roy had to go through AP (after AP originally stoped him)... and then went up on Bosh and made him look bad. The best part about the layup was he that just took what the defense did and adjusted. Jordans layup seemed very much that he knew what he wanted to do once he took the first step in the lane.
But Roy, looked great last night. I never knew he had such a great handle.Last edited by aa2ba; 12-20-2007, 01:28 PM.Comment

Do you realize MJ did that same switch hands layup on teams with a higher vert and more airtime far more regularly than what you guys are acknowledging?
Just much faster and right after he crossed somebody over on his way to the bucket.
I like Roy, i like the move he did, but come on we've seen it done over and over, and not only that, far more sick layups by other guards.
In other words you guys are overblowing this one.Comment

Jordan had this sick *** layup he did i tihnk in 88 or 90 it was vs the cavs...Dude that Roy layup wasn't that great. It was nice but come on, you guys are in here acting like it hasn't ever been done before. I've seen Kobe do far more sick layups than that.

he was literally floating in the air and moved around 2 guys and was still not even coming down.
The guys on the cavs bench were even going wild about it.... classic.
I know someone knows what im talking about#SimnationComment

Re: Brandon Roy is a G.
There's no doubt Jordan had several absurd layups in his career, especially while people were attempting to intentionally foul him and prevent him from getting a shot off altogether. I think it was Charles Oakley who tried giving MJ a bear hug from behind while both had their back to the basket and Jordan still managed to flip it up and in.
But anyway, personally I think Jordan had several layups that were more impressive than his one against LA in the Finals."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier
