    Re: What Team...

As a Raptors team I don't want to face the Pistons. For some reason the Raptors just don't match up well against them.

I think they have a decent shot against every other team in the East.

      Third times a charm huh?

I've always been a huge AI fan and it was disappointing seeing them get knocked out last year by the Spurs. But with one more year of play time together for AI and Melo I would love to see the Nuggets knock off the Spurs.

The Timberwolves, but lucky for us, they won't be in the playoffs.

        In all honesty, the Spurs.

Add New Orleans and Utah to that list. Our rebounding is so atrocious that they will pound us all game, every game. It would be ugly.

            Re: What Team...

I'm a Nugs fan, and I'm primarily afraid of the Hornets and the Lakers. I really think that the Nuggets can handle the Spurs this season (assuming Nene and K-Mart are both playing in the series). Nene can definitely defend Duncan (as can K-Mart, though by stealing the ball and frustrating him rather than by muscling him around), and the Nuggets have shown several times this season that they can win against grind-it-out opponents playing the opponent's style of ball.

The Lakers are the big one though -- for whatever reason, they've basically destroyed the Nuggets in 3 games this season, and some Laker always seems to have a career night when the two teams play. We can't really match up with Odom well, and (assuming Bynum is back) we'd absolutely need Nene for that series. We don't have anyone that can reliably defend Kobe while not being a total drain on the offense, thus making Kobe-like minutes on the defensive end impossible(Yakhouba, I'm looking at you).

But the biggest issue for the Nuggets is that they have a lot of capable shooters, and we don't close out on the 3pt shot reliably... which is why Lakers players keep having career nights against us. Kobe is too good at drawing attention and finding open shooters for the Nuggets to play half-assed perimeter defense... they absolutely have to get out and contest shots to have a chance in hell...

The Suns would beat the Nuggets in a 7-game series also, just because they don't close out on shooters well, and Phoenix is of course loaded. Same drill with New Orleans -- they negate some of Camby's rebounding via Chandler and nearly everyone on the roster can hit from anywhere on the floor... And they're just playing great basketball behind Chris Paul this season.

I'm looking at the standings every day and we're hovering around the lower end which is what I'm liking. I think the Bulls like to come in as an underdog and then play with reckless abandon. They did a number on Detroit last year for those two games. Almost had me believing.

I would love to have that matchup again. It might happen. Ironically, I'm sure it won't.

To answer the initial answer, I'd hate to play Boston, Cleveland, or Washington. I think that Washington would give us the most problems because of the momentum they have. I'd love to see the Cavaliers and Washington go at it. Boston is number 1 on the list because of the Big Ticket.

Spurs. They're the only team in the west that I'm not 100% confident we can beat.

I wanna play Orlando. I think we'd win in 5.

With Avery as our coach, it is obviously the Warriors. But the trade of Jason Richardson was huge for the Mavs as he was always the key cog that hurt the most.

Jazz and Warriors will have crazy home court advantage if they make the playoffs.

Pretty good time to bump this up as it is almost playoff time. I posted this thread way to earlier then it should have been.
