I agree. Getting rid of Wallace was big in itself. They probably would have unloaded that contract for nothing.

The closest thing to beard in that picture is the shadow of Blaytche's arm on Illgauskaus's face.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

It was Drew Gooden but they changed the file but kept it the same name to avoid having rewrtie the code. So it showed as the old pic till you refresh the page

I guess that the Houston Rockets are looking to have more chemistry after the trade. Tracy McGrady and Bobby Jackson were such good pals before:

              Welp...

Ben replaces Drew's boards, improves our post and help defense, and gives us a better locker room guy who will make sure that the Cavs don't mentally lapse on defense, although I liked the fact that Drew could occasionally go off for 20+, and couldn't be left wide open. Joe Smith gives us alot more consistency on the blocks so we should be OK in the post. Hate Ben's contract, but it falls off when Bron becomes a FA in 2010, so we'll have tons of cap room to keep Bron and maybe add another strong piece.

Plus, I cannot wait to see Varejao and Wallace roaming the paint together.

Wally is a much better fit than Larry was offensively since Wally doesn't need the ball to be effective, and should open the floor for Bron with his shooting. Finally, a consistent midrange shooter! I like what he'll give our offense...but I'm really worried about our perimeter D. Larry was as good defensively as he was bad on offense. Boobie can hit the trey all day, but he can't defend or distribute, and since he's hurt anyway we'll probably have to throw Delonte into the fire. I liked West as a Celtic, but the fact that he couldn't beat out Ridenhour or Watson scares me. I think we'll take a defensive hit out on the wings, but hopefully Big Ben's presence will help.

I don't know how this will all work, and they don't have a ton of time to figure it out. I think we got better, but I'm not really sure...it all depends on how longh it takes for them to jell.

This ain't the same Ben you're thinking of. Now he's just an old, undersized center that's lost a lot of athleticism and never had a shot to begin with. Gooden was slightly better than at this point in their careers and Ben Wallace has probably the worst contract in the league. Hughes probably has the second worst contract in the league and he's mostly terrible but Szczerbiak is not very versatile either. Szczerbiak can shoot and that's basically it, he's below average defensively and doesn't really take it to the rim well. Sure the Cavs needed shooters since LeBron's game is wonderful for the dish and drive, I think the Cavs worsened their financial situation and future situation while getting perhaps a tiny bit better for this year. I think the Bulls made out like bandits.

Wallace and Hughes had the same ammount of years left (2), and since Varejao already put us over the cap, the only thing this does is cost Gilbert more in lux tax, which means nothing to anyone but the Cavs accountants. Likewise, Wally only has one more year...same as Drew.

Second, old man Wallace is still averaging MORE rebounds that Drew this season (not by much..8.8 to 8.3) and Ben Wallace brings tons more focus than Drew did. I liked Drew, but his mind wandered alot, and Varejao was eating deep into his minutes. Drew rarely even played in the 4th quarter. Too inconsistent...at least Big ben does what he does every night, and even the current Bulls players acknowledge they'll miss him as a locker room presense and paint enforcer. The Cavs interior can rebound, but had zero toughness outside of Andy. Wallace, if nothing else, addresses that.

If Larry balls out in CHI I will be pissed though...

I wonder if this is what Lebron had in mind. The Cavs' frontcourt was fine imo
