If The NBA Had A League Wide 1 on 1 Tournament, Who Would Come Out On Top?

    Just for Fun.

So, like the title reads, if there was a league wide 1 on 1 competition who would be the winner?

Lets just not post a name. But let us add why.

What would make it even more interesting/fun is if you disagree with another persons choice, state your guy and how he would beat the person you disagree with. Maybe even pan out how the game wll go.

So, say someone chooses Iverson. I'd say "SHAQ because once Iverson misses, there will be no way Iverson could stop SHAQ."

No specific seeding. Let's just say that each team has it's own 1 on 1 competition with the winner representing his team.

Matchups are completely randomized from this point. So you can have a center matched up with a point guard.

Playing to 11. Straight up. Winners out.

So let me get things started...

I would have to go with Kevin Garnett.

He would go to work on smaller players and bigger players alike and has the quickness to stay with smaller guards on defense. KG gets my pick.

I would go with AI - quickness, first step, heart, respect.

Impossibe to say. What rules are we playing with? What's the score? How is the seeding?
"Maybe I can't win. But to beat me, he's going to have to kill me. And to kill me, he's gonna have to have the heart to stand in front of me. And to do that, he's got to be willing to die himself. I don't know if he's ready to do that."

It just depends who gets ball first. AI would score on any center in the league every time and vise versa. As it is, I'd be safe and go with Kobe or Lebron. They could post the smaller player, out quick the bigger players, and pull up on anyone while stopping any player enough.

I think SHAQ would beat A.I. one on one.

SHAQ would be smart enough to back off of Iverson, just protect the paint, and let him shoot til he misses. Once that happens, it's all over for the little guy. There's nothing A.I. can do against SHAQ in the post.

I think SHAQ would even show AI a little thing or two about the crossover:

We should play NBA 2k8 to find out.

I got Kobe, KG, LeBron, and Dwight in the final 4.

I like LeBron and KG in the finals.

(LeBron over Kobe, KG over Dwight)

Due to their combined strength and speed.

it's a toss up between the two.

I think LeBron ultimately wins out though.

Shaq would have to get to the post first. Assuming we're playing NBA rules and not street rules, there's no way Shaq could get past AI without fouling him.

Lebron - he's got the size to play against the big guys and the speed to hang with the little guys.
