Reasons for the rapid rise of scoring in the NBA

First of all, I'll admit that there's nothing new or groundbreaking here to read. But I thought this was a good article to take a peek at anyway for NBA fans and followers. Check this article from FOX Sports about the overall rise in scoring throughout the league over the last few years, and comments coming from various coaches and players about this subject.

Rules changes translate into more offense

I think it starts with how teams play. We are almost back to a west coast vs. east coast basketball again. The West plays faster the East more half court.

I think all professional leagues are the best when there are a bunch of different ideologies on how to win. I like how the NBA is mixing a little bit of everything.

The rule changes I think added more FT's which helps a little.

It's a shame this topic was ignored, but Kruza is right, and yes the players weren't good enough to score as many points without the league changing the rules to give the offense the benefi.

Interesting they show the Suns as Stern asked Mr. Coleangelo to help create some of the rules.

Obviously the rule changes were huge, but the other factor is that the players are just better. They're not as good as the 80s-90s players, but it's way higher than the 99ish-2005 years.
