Right Caron has been PLAYING like the 2nd best SF in the NBA (arguable with Melo Man). So I don't see it happening. They love Big Caron here.

Re: The Lakers finally put Lamar Odom on the trading block
None of that applies to Butler.
The only reason to believe the Wiz would trade Butler for Odom is that David Stern has a photo of the Washington owner lying naked in a crack house w/a goat & an illegal alien midget.Originally posted by VP Richard M. Re: The Lakers finally put Lamar Odom on the trading block
This is a joke.
1. There's a very good chance we're losing Arenas and Jamison after this year. You don't lose your 3 best players in one offseason, unless you're bringing in a supremely dominant player.
2. I mean, come on. Butler for Odom? Really? Considering the Lakers have no picks, it would have to be a straight up trade, and that's just not happening. The only 3s that Butler would be traded for are Lebron, Melo, and maybe I could see Pierce. This would be trading an All NBA type guy for a 3rd or 4th option.
There's not even logic to the trade. The only thing valuable about Odom is his contract, and with Jamison and Arenas leaving, we'll be able to sign anyone we please (Brand). This is comical. At least the other trades had some sort of logic. Shaq and Kidd are attempts to capitalize on a narrow window, and Memphis wants to hit the restart button. This would give the Wizards nothing and take pretty much the entire team.

Re: The Lakers finally put Lamar Odom on the trading block

Re: The Lakers finally put Lamar Odom on the trading block
Phoenix needed inside presence/rebounding, Marion asked to be traded in the summer. Miami knew Shaq was old and they couldn't accomplish anything with their current team.
Memphis needs to rebuild, wanted expiring contract and young talent [Crittenton, first round pick].
Washington gets nothing out of Odom. No expiring contract, nothing that they don't already have or what they need.Comment

Re: The Lakers finally put Lamar Odom on the trading block
Except there's no good reason for Washington to do this. Look at the Shaq/Pau trades.

Hey, im not saying yall are wrong...but "no way this happens" has been said too many times this seasonComment

Re: The Lakers finally put Lamar Odom on the trading block
I just look at it like this: Washington literally gets nothing out of a trade involving only Caron and Lamar. If other pieces are involved, then maybe I see the logic. If Washington can dump salary, or get an expiring deal [I don't think the Lakers have any more] or something positive then I'd see it.Comment

Re: The Lakers finally put Lamar Odom on the trading block
In fact a trade containing only Lamar and Caron would not work.
Lamar is due 13.5 and 14.5 mill over this year and next.
Caron is due 8, 9, 10, 10.5 mill over the next four years.
Why would Washington part with such a great contract/playerComment

There's a link on yahoo that just says the Lakers are interested in a SF like Caron. It says nothing of the Wiz shopping Caron.Comment

Re: The Lakers finally put Lamar Odom on the trading block
Ditto. If you had explained the gasol, shaq, kidd trade before they happened, I would've seen some reasoning to do each trade. This one literally has zero sense. Not a better contract, not a better player, not better chemistry wise, no picks or prospects involved. No. Chance.MLB: New York Yankees
NBA: New Jersey Nets
NFL: Detroit Lions / New York Giants
NCAA: UNC
