No kudos to NO for hosting the All-Star Game?

I'm surprised I haven't seen a thread about how the city of New Orleans pulled off the All-Star game. No reports of arrests, many in the media saying how great the whole weekend was with the quarter and the people there, plus it seems that the weekend was great for those that love the NBA. So, I'll say it, kudos to Stern for taking the event to New Orleans and kudos to those in New Orleans who made sure that the NBA and the world saw how great that city still is.

I was honestly impressed with how great the performances were. The whole aura was top of the line honestly. Wasn't it Tracy McGrady who didn't want to come because he thought something wrong would happen to him? I'd definitely look forward to having it in New Orleans again. Maybe the NFL could bless the city also.

New Orleans is used to hosting big events. Theyve had quite a few superbowls, final fours, BCS championships, etc..

they are definitely one of the better cities for events...its cool they are back up and running again.

I thought there was much praise already in the various All Star threads.

No news is good news as far as I am concerned... I dont expect the city to get props for doing what it should be able to do in the first place. Those who came out against it being there are probably too busy eating crow to compliment the city anyway. I just hope the Hornets stay in town so I can enjoy NBA basketball live.

I'm really digging the idea of having the All-Star game in NOLA for the next few years. I think it was a great thing for the city. The Friday "volunteer" day was pretty cool too IMO.

Yea... PacMan and Stephen Jackson obviously were not in town so the city was safe.

But I thought that New Orleans couldn't host a "huge" event like the All Star game.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

New Orleans has always hosted HUGE events. I think this was the first huge one post Katrina, so people were very skeptical.

I was being sarcastic, someone in another thread said that New Orleans wasn't capable of hosting huge events and it had nothing to do with Katrina.

Tough call: NBA ASG or BCS Championship Game with LSU in it?

                          Well done, NO.

they need to get rid of the halftime shows for next time as they were really really boring
