Interesting... Orlando spends millions of dollars in one weekend just to take Grant Hill, McGrady and Duncan out on the town...Blue Chips style. They show a glimpse at the future, all the championships that could be won with the three playing together and they HAD the money to sign em. Was a great idea. Hill bought it. TMac bought it. Duncan didn't. Why do you think he'd do anything different now?

One word, losing. After the Spurs get bounced again in the post season courtesy of the Lakers, Duncan will finally realize that his team is full of role players and he needs a top 5 calibur player to secure his championship dreams. You also have to remember that back then Duncan was still coming off that championship season not that long before. This time he will realize that he will need someone to combat Kobe, and that is T-Mac.

Nah, I don't think he'll leave. He just made a new house, not far from their new practice facility, and they have a new stadium. The Spurs have done everything TD has wanted, and then some. He has a great relationship with Pop, and he likes his teammates. Granted, they might lose again, and they do need another star or 2, but that's why they have manuevered everything to get below the cap so that they can sign someone like that. TMac or not, there are other players that are star quality that can go to SA. I say, get a solid player in the offseason, no one too expensive, but very solid. And then go after KG next year.

What makes you think that the Spurs aren't looking to get a top 5 caliber player this offseason via trade. They just may be able to trade parker and a draft pick, and move up to get a big man.

SA is, the 2nd, best team in the NBA, record wise. There a good *** team. Why are you dogging them. Danny Ferry and Steve Smith barely even play, yet they still win.

Just wait until the playoffs are over before you CRITIQUE a team like that. That just pisses me off.

Was wondering, when exactly are they going to start losing since that's what'll make him change his mind? Losing in the conference finals after having a top 5 record in the NBA doesn't usually count as losing. If you think it does you must have a very frustrating life.

Every season not winning the title is a failed season for a player who has won the NBA title and MVP like Duncan. Tell me this then: is it a good season or acceptable season for Shaq and Kobe if they just start having 60 win seasons and not winning the title? I rest my case.

It may be "failed", but it's not life threatening and Tim wouldn't be so stupid to leave a good team, a good arena, a good community, over frustration.

You just have higher expectations and a higher degree to understand a "down fall of a season" You can't always get your way and when redemption finally settles in afer 5 "failed" seasons, the outcome and the emotion is that much greater. It makes you a better person, a better player, and lastly a well rounded ball player, on and off the court.

Look at the nfl players that win rings. They don't always win them again, but they have the drive and determination to win again.

You can look at an aeverage person for example. They get an A+ on their spanish exam. They have higher expectations now, in that class, because of that high grade. If there a devoted worker and want to learn spanish, they'll stick spanish out for 3-4 years and learn how to comprehend and speak it. Maybe year 2, they'll get a C on their spanish exam and then year 3 get a B. They may be dissapointed. But they won't just get up and ditch all their hard earned efforts for an easy way out.

lol. But with Money as an issue, you never know what "smart" human beings will do.

                                1. They won in '99 so not winning a championship for years is an exaggeration.

                                2. Spurs are anything but losing this year... and they won't trade Parker when every time he scores 20 the Spurs are 17-0.
                                3. They have 3 quick energetic backcourt players to take attention off Duncan... makes the Spurs unpredictable and their offense as good as their #1 defense.

So.... 4. They should start making SPURS championship wrings now, b/c they've got it locked... I guarantee!
