You've obviously never heard of Tim "I refuse going inside the three point line for 20 mins straight on neither end" Thomas.

And I could think of quite a few guys that are worst than Nash. At least the dude takes charges, Kyle just goes into the cocoon pose.

I would say Thomas is a below average defender, but Nash is literally one of the 10 worst in the league... literally.

Yeah, a player who is pretty adept at getting charges, has been around the league average in steals (around 0.8, 0.9) for most of his career and is actually decent at swiping balls is the worst defender in the league. He obviously isn't going to stop anyone and at his age will get killed by the younger more talented pg's, but there are more than 40 players in the NBA right now that don't even try playing defense. Could those players be better defenders than Nash if they tried? Of course. But defense is basically about effort, and there are a ton of guys that put in a lot less effort than him.
