Both union and NBA deny new age limit for draft all set

    Here's the link:

The director of the NBA players' union vehemently denied Tuesday having any kind of a handshake agreement with the league to set an age limit of 20 in the next collective bargaining agreement.

I can't see the league putting in an age limit. I think that would be the best thing for the kids, and maybe even the game. But since it doesn't hurt the league to have kids come out early and fail, and it seems to help them tremendously when these kids succeed, it just wouldn't make sense for the league to put in an age limit by themselves.

The problem isn't the guys who fail. The problem is that too many guys are coming out who are just mediocre. Too many guards and small forwards are coming out with the athletic ability to play in the league but they don’t have the shooting ability to stick around anywhere (see Kenny Satterfield). Others guys can shoot but they don’t have the necessary offensive and defensive IQ to be effective in a team format. Many power forwards and centers coming out don’t have the footwork necessary to play underneath. Many also don’t have the size to bang around with the stronger centers and power forwards. Of course there have always been average, bench-filler type guys in the league. The problem is that the average player coming into the league is worse than they were 10-15 years ago. Too many athletes are coming into the league when BASKETBALL players are needed.

They really should put a age limit in, 20 years would be perfect that gives kids 2 or 3 years in college they get ready to be a NBA player, to many talented kids left college early and failed in the nba and won't get another chance.. It would also make the college game 10 x better, could you image Lebron James, Carmelo Anthony both in college for 2-3 more years. BOOOY that would be nasty
