    Bynum to have surgery

Bynum going to have surgery. I hope he makes a great recovery and gets back to form for next season.

    Re: Bynum to have surgery

Would have been nice to just get this surgery done way earlier. But the injury probably was too hard to judge whether or not rest would ultimately heal it.

I don't buy into the "Buss was keeping out hope to keep ticket sales up" or whatever people are saying on message boards. Sometimes Buss can be a jackass but I doubt doctors would have went along with that. He did get his knee checked out by a number of different doctors, not just Laker doctors.

when he comes back, the Larry O'Brien trophy will be in Los Angeles for a WHILE unless some GM's start doing something about it. Spurs need to sign Jermaine O'Neal this offseason.

I haven't heard any rumors about Jermaine O'Neal opting out of his contract this summer and that's the only way he'll be a free agent. And I really don't see him opting out of his contract that has 2 years with 44.3 million dollars remaining. I just can't see him walking away from a contract that makes him one of the top 5 highest paid players in the league. I don't think he'd get anywhere close to that amount on the open market given his history of injuries the past couple years. The only way the Pacers will be able to get rid of O'Neal is in a trade.

true. forgot about his hefty pay days the next 2 years. Spurs need something huge though.

SA should try and lure Jermaine with the opportunity to win a championship because he ain't gonna win one with the current lineup of IND. Especially with his injury history. Look what is happening to Kidd now passing the opportunity to play with Duncan.

IDK. The kid is kind of goofy and you really don't know if this injury could end up tragically cutting his career short. Wouldn't be the first time. It's also very possible he doesn't recover the way the lakers want and they don't extend him, then some other team picks him up and where he recovers. Unlikely but possible.

Hopefully he comes back and picks up where he left off, it will be really sad to see such a young cat who performed good not be able to bounce back from this injury. Piss off Vitti.
