Re: Josh Smith or Rudy Gay

Tough tough call, but I'll take Smith. I don't recall Gay putting up individual lines like Smith has in his career. Smith can fill up a stat sheet boy.... both will be good third wheels.

Re: Josh Smith or Rudy Gay

Rudy Gay is a better shooter and scorer. I always thought he had the potential to average 25+ in the NBA coming out of college, possibly more than 30 a couple of years.

Josh Smith is a great defender, shot blocker, rebounder.

        Depends on what you want.

I'd say Josh Smith, but I think Gay will have a better stat line since he's on a worse team.

I'd say Gay simply because when I watch Smith I'm convinced he's has one of the lowest basketball IQ's in the NBA.

Rudy Gay for sure, he is incredible, but just plays on a bad team.

Rudy Gay. Gay's a pretty good defender himself, athletic, can block shots, but is much more of a weapon on the offensive end than Josh Smith is.

But in the future I think Josh Smith will be better if he can improve his perimeter game.

Smith. I really like what he brings to a team defensively.

Cosign. Take Smith because of his defense.

I don't see Smith nor Gay ever being leaders, or even second wheels on title contending teams. Something about them just screams out Rashard Lewis level player.

Gay for the next couple of years, but in about 3 years Josh Smith is going to be a beast.

I disagree about that with Gay. Josh Smith is a glue type of guy. I think if he was on a team like Phoenix or Denver, he would make them into favorites. Not a star but a major difference maker.

Gay however, if he can refine his offensive game a bit better, can be a superstar. He can go to the hole, has a smooth stroke, post up well, as well as rebounds and defends. He kinda reminds me of Clyde Drexler (not as good obviously). He just needs to be more consistent and get that "I'm the man" mindset. If he could develop a true midrange game, than he could be very, very dangerous.
