Doug Collins to return as Bulls head coach

Not too excited about this move.

I agree. He's a decent coach, but he is a GREAT commentator whether you agree with him or not.

I heard this rumor this morning...I dont really know what to make of it yet. After doing some research I'm thinking Avery Johnson would be the best fit for our team.

NOOOO.. I don't care if he told too many anecdotes, I love him as a color commentator. Darnnnnit.

The Bullies just need to get Deng healthy and re-sign him. I don't see this hire as a stretch or a bad decision at all.. they are going to have a wealth of talent next year.

This is pretty much the way I see this hiring. To be honest, I don't think I would've been ecstatic about any of the other potential candidates. Although I do think Michael Curry will be a great coach someday.

From D'Antoni or Avery to Doug Collins? Hmm. Have fun coaching Larry "I only want to have fun and not win" Hughes next season.

Not much of a sexy pick, but I guess the Bulls brass let most of them slip through their fingers huh? This was another "safe" hire by the Bulls brass, they aren't known to go out and get players/coaches who necessarily will bring great excitement to the franchise. I'm mostly indifferent about this selection.

I think this is a good pick for them. Collins is a nice change of pace from Skiles. Avery would have been much of the same, and those guys were tuning out already. They need an easier hand that will boost their confidence, nurture Rose or Beasely and get them back into the playoffs. Collins has always done all of those things with young teams. When he overstays his welcome, they'll be ready for a higher caliber coach, and if Paxson gets his head on straight, they'll also be more talented by that time.
