Is that really necessary when they have Young? Not to mention Rodney Carney... that's a lot of SFs on one team.Originally posted by EWRMETSMaybe the best post in OS's history. If you don't think Tony Romo is a Hall of Famer, you support al Qaeda. -
Re: Yahoo! Reports 76ers will Offer Josh Smith Contract
Wont matter, from everything I heard the Hawks will match any offer that Smith gets. According to other reports, the 76ers will then go after Maggette if Smith stays in Atlanta. Personally, I dont get why they are going after someone that they really have no shot of getting when at the same time they could make a solid push for Maggette if they really wanted him, the longer they take the closer he gets to signing with Orlando and then Philly walks away with nothing.Comment

Re: Yahoo! Reports 76ers will Offer Josh Smith Contract
I get what you're saying but maybe its of the thinking that they offer a deal to the best player possible just in case.
They can still offer one to CM when Smith rejects it, or signs with the Hawks.
Basically they are dictating his value this summer in a sense and of course ATL is going to match.Comment

He can play the 4 and cause big time matchup problems as well. He's a great weakside defensive helper, not so sure about his individual defensive standings when its man upI do because I can, I can because I want, I want because you say I can'tComment

Hah, man... Andre Miller throwing alley-oops to Andre Igoudala, Josh Smith, Thaddeus Young, Lou Williams, and Rodney Carney would be absolutely sick. I hope this happens, even though I've always loved Smith on the Hawks.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Re: Yahoo! Reports 76ers will Offer Josh Smith Contract
Well you guys aren't going to win a championship any time soon, so you might as well get some players with proven star potential who can help you be competitive in the playoffs. Until you guys can either draft or trade for a true low post scorer, its not going to matter if you do or don't sign Smith, you'll be one and done in the playoffs basically every year. At least with the signing of Smith it will at least IMPROVE your team to the point where a low post scoring presence would make you guys a very formidable team in the league.Comment

Anyways, I don't want Smith. Nice player, but I'd rather keep the cap space for later. If it leads to a top 5 pick next year, great. Highest we've drafted in a long time is 8th.
I'd rather this team be a loser and draft in the top 5 than to be bounced out of the playoffs in the first round year after year.Comment

For what? I don't think we will possibly have a season worse than last year, and with Iggy supposedly moving to the 2 spot, this could be a dangerous team with that new uptempo style Mo is using.Eagles, 76ers, Phillies, Arsenal FC, Wildcats, Vols

Yeah, the team almost beat the Pistons in the playoffs, there is no way that team is going to be awful enough to get a top 5 pick in the draft next year. The Sixers are in position to make moves necessary to take this team to the next level, this is no time to think about massive rebuilding.Comment

You want Iggz moving to the 2 spot?!
You remember he can't drive the lane well, not the greatest finisher and we all know he isn't a consistent shooter...and that's being easy on him.

They didn't almost beat ****. The Pistons were bored. Sixers took it to them and the Pistons woke up out of their slumber. I do not want to hear anything about almost beating the Pistons.
Nobody knows what will happen with this team, Yeah, they may not be awful enough to get a top 5 pick. But at least don't mess up and get back into cap hell.
The Sixers can't make moves without moving major cogs. And there isn't a superstar on the team. Not even a great player.
Without getting that big time player, this team will continue to be a 6th-7th seed for year to come and I don't want that.Comment
