Re: Knicks Management Blows It Again - Reject deal for Randolph to Clippers

I was at that game. That was a tough game for him, but he doesn't play like that usually. A lot of times people criticize these players, people grab clips of offense. It ain't his offense. If his defense were half as good as his offense, no one would be trying to trade him, and everyone would want him. His offensive flaws stand out only because that's all he does, besides rebound the heck out of the basketball.

That was the " I want a new coach now" Shuffle.

So the Clips get Camby for free and we're stuck with Randolph.

            I rest my case.

It's the NBA. You think no one is going to be interested in Randolph next season?

If his value is at an all-time low right now then it can only go up. So, you hold on and then trade him next off-season or at the deadline.

Having him or not having him this season is going to be the same. The Knicks will suck and lose a lot of games and no Randolph salary space for 08-09 will make that better.

That's a huge assumption all of you are making. What makes you think Randolph will act like he care while in a Knicks uni?

What was great about the Clippers situation was that they had cap room to take him without matching contracts. No one else is under except the Grizzlies. Making them have to take back salary.

I would have rather just dumped Marbury on them but Randolph would have been just as fine.

                    Thank you.

Who's to say he doesn't get injured and therefore becomes untradeable?

They had their chance to get rid of his contract and they didn't. In OUR (highest payroll in the league, biggest underachievers, etc.) situation, that is just pure stupidity.

I think the last thing I really want to see is a repeat of Thomas and his performance as Knicks GM.

Thomas came in and started shipping people left and right that Layden brought in. And that just made the team worse and worse.

Perhaps, management is trying to salvage what pieces they have and find out what D'Antoni can work with before just settling for nothing in return.

But what pieces do the Knicks have? And which of these pieces aren't getting paid big money?

The Knicks need to rid of salary. That should be their main goal at the moment. Because the guys soaking up the cap aren't "pieces".

Supposedly (according to SI, but I read it on HoopsHype), the Clippers also wanted the Knicks to send a first round pick, and about 3 million in cash along with Randolph for Brevin Knight.

Randolph has talent to put up 20 and 10, but he's a loser and a black hole. Once he gets the ball, he isn't passing. Guy needs 25 shots a game to put up his numbers.

If that is true, then I understand why the Knick Knacks didn't do it and would explain why the Clippers are the Clippers.
