Re: Darius Miles to attemt comeback
I hope Miles plays and does so at a high level. The Blazers deserve some bad karma for the memo they sent.As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"Comment

Re: Darius Miles to attemt comeback
I would be shocked is Miles could even play at a high level anymore and Im not sure he ever did. Miles has no jumpshot to speak of and relies on his athleticism which I would imagine is hampered by the constant knee injuries.Last edited by The Chef; 01-10-2009, 05:46 PM.Comment

Re: Darius Miles to attemt comeback
Interesting.
Sources within the Celtics and Grizzlies told David Aldridge recently that forward Darius Miles doesn't have any physical limitations regarding his right knee.
The teams did admit that Miles is working back into shape, but the microfracture surgery he had back in 2006 doesn't have anything to do with it.

Re: Darius Miles to attemt comeback
It's bad luck for Portland...but that's basketball.
The Blazers have had a LOT of luck recently...Brandon Roy at number 7 (Michael Jordan took Adam Morrison several picks earlier)...and they got Greg Oden and the number one pick against all odds.
They are still set up for a very bright future...Comment

Re: Darius Miles to attemt comeback
And The Plot Thickens??
Portland is really not looking professional right now. The Jail Blazers seem to be the least of that teams historic problems.
Edit: Wow, from what I'm reading on realgm, when Portland couldn't get Miles from the waiver, then they sent out the email.
Before the Portland Trail Blazers resorted to a threatening email to frighten rival NBA teams from signing Darius Miles, team officials late last week made a brazen bid to claim the forward off waivers only to be stopped by the league, multiple front-office sources told Yahoo! Sports.
So determined to salvage the salary cap space that would come with the foiling of Miles’ comeback from a devastating knee injury, Portland president Larry Miller and general manager Kevin Pritchard apparently were willing to stash Miles on the sideline and keep him away from other NBA teams.
In denying the Blazers’ move to control Miles, NBA front-office sources say that league executives in New York denied the waiver claim because they believed the Blazers were merely trying to circumvent league salary cap rules.
Once the NBA rejected Portland’s waiver claim, Miller sent an unprecedented threat of legal action for any team that signed Miles as a free agent. Several league executives were aware of the bid on Miles and reacted angrily over what they considered hypocrisy.Last edited by luv_mist; 01-13-2009, 01:00 PM.Comment

Re: Darius Miles to attemt comeback
Darius Miles just scored his first NBA points in like a decade! Actually he's still pretty young, I've heard so much about him for so long I'd almost swear he was 32 or something, but he's just 27. Kinda forgot he came straight out of high school.
LMAO, he just missed an uncontested dunk! lol!
