    Basketball Terms

Well, I've decided to start this thread for people like me who have little basketball IQ. So feel free to post your questions too and hope that someone on the forum will answer them.

Anyway, I was hoping someone could define what these two terms mean, which I often hear the broadcasters say:

    1) "Weak side help" - is this when a second man comes in and defends the ball handler on his weak hand (like at the left hand if he is a righty)?

    2) "Unanswered points" - no idea

Unanswered points usually refers to the other team not scoring while your team scores consecutively.

For example, The lakers score 12 points in a row, while the other team doesn't score anything.

You'd say LA has scored 12 unaswered buckets or baskets/ or they have 12 unaswered points.

                1) Lets say a guy crosses you up and takes the ball to the left, while you are on his right, which will lead to an easy bucket... but then somebody from the left side steps in to help and stop him or reject him!

                2) Unanswered Points is like a streak... If I scored 10 unanswered points, then that means I have scored 10 points in a row without the other team scoring in that time period!

i know what this means, but not sure if i can explain it. I'll try though. Let's use the Lakers vs. Bucks example. Say, Sam Cassel drives in from the right side for a layup, the weak side defense would be shaq coming from the left side to block it. The side where the ball is, is called the "strong side." The weak side would be the opposite side.

I'm not sure about this one, but I'll try. An Unanswered point probably is when one team scores, and the other team can't score back on the next possesion.
Example: Kobe scores 2, and on next possesion Bucks fail to score
