Number 1 pick in the draft would you dare......

not pick Lebron and pick someone from college or a foriegn player. As good as Lebron looks something keeps making feel like he won't be an imeadiate impact and if he doesn't that might hurt his career because of the hype. His game is nice but its big jump from being a whake in a small pond to being a gold fish in the Alantic Ocean

no HS players make an impact until 1-3 years later so he's still worth the wait imo

That is the thing that I was thinking but will the media the fans and organization that drafts him have the same patience after all this hype. I mean look at the Jay WIlliams situation or Elton Brand or even Drew Gooden there is not always time for a kid to adjust before the doubters come running and some kids crumble under the pressure I mean its been hard so far but its jsut gonna get worst after he is drafted

Brand put up good numbers right away!!! But Chicago saw an oppertunity to have a one day All Star front court that could mesh and be together for 15 to 20 years. Chandler has more upside than Brand IMO.

And I wouldn't be surprised to see that european Milicic or even Carmelo Anthony turn out to be a better pro than "King James" We all know Milicic will have a greater impact his first few years for sure. And if you don't beleive that then you're just on the LeBron James bandwagon of hype. I'd take T.J. Ford (NCAA player of the year so far) ahead of James at this point really, but it all depends on who gets the first pick to. Clevland would be better off drafting Milicic He's huge and is like the bizzaro world Dirk, meaning he's a better post player than Dirk but doesn't have as nice a shot outside as Dirk. And he's only 18 too!!!! Oh yeah watch Kaman from Central my boy (T.J. Meerman) plays up there and says we've just started to see his total ability.

Actually Milicic is only 17 for a couple more months. I think he'll actually be better than Nowitzki and I'm a big Nowitzki fan. Milicic has more agressiveness than any other European player I have seen lately, he has great range on his shot and can down low too. He's a great dribbler for his size and he'll cut through traffic and slash to the hoop like a guard. He can create matchup problems for other teams because he's way to quick for most power fowards and is too big for small fowards. Darko is the real deal and I think he could be the best player out of this draft.

I am not sure that King James has shown me enought to warrant number 1 pick the only thing that I really see is a lot of hype a great player but the hype os larger than anything else

I agree with all of you guys, because even though James is putting up these impressive numbers, it is only highschool, and I have seen other highschoolers who have done the same thing and don't make it big! Ever watch Hoop Dreams? William Gates made an impact as much as James did, and he didn't go nowhere... not even overseas... he is a cop now (so even if he did have a bum leg for a year, he could of went overseas.).

                            My picks:

                            1. T.J. Ford
                            2. Josh Howard (if he left school)
                            3. Darko Milicic
                            4. Lebron James
                            5. Carmelo Anthony
