Can't be!!! And I swear I was thinking about the 1992 blazers lineup yesterday and smiled to myself when I thought of Duckworth's weight. I really liked his game, though.

What's going on with all those way-too-young-people dying!?

Duck was the one of the first true Centers that I remember having a true face-up game. He had good post skills, but for a big, wide 7 footer, he had a nice little jumper out to 15 feet. Of course, the others were Laimbeer and Ewing.

I love Kevin Duckworthy. Everytime I talk about the best years of POR, I always remember Duckworth and Kersey before I mention the names of Drexler and Porter. I wish I had the chance to meet the guy in person when he was alive.

Local reports say that Duck died from a heart attack, not that anyone was thinking otherwise.

                    There's a tribute video over at NBA.com

That one Dream Shake-esq move on Mark Eaton was pretty dirty.

Duckworth was a solid pro, and from what I heard of him a good person. Its a damn shame he died so young. He and Laimbeer had quite an entertaining 90' finals series. Lots of banging going on. He had a decent (seemed like a one handed) jumper, and he was pretty good on the inside. But his weight problems really hampered him in his career. And sadly, his life.

May he rest in peace, and may his soul move on to what ever paradise men can attain.

Congestive Heart Failure and the coroner says that his heart had probably been failing him for some time now. Between his high blood pressure and a disease of the heart called cardiomyopathy that caused his heart to enlarge, thats what caused his heart to give out.

I heard a story which might tell the people that dont know what type of person he was.

This is off The Fan...Just somebody calling in.

"When I heard the Duck was over by Circuit City at an autograph signing...The first thing I decided to do is bring my kids there. When we got there we were about a half hour late, but then I saw him loading his stuff in the van he was in. I asked him for an autograph for my kids. He said sure. We were talking for about 20 minutes and the guy the Duck was working with said "Im sorry that there is not more people here" Duck replied...It was well worth the time to give these children an autograph"

Duck was a very very nice man...It's just unfortunate that he had to die this young. I wish more NBA players would open up like he did...That's what is wrong with the NBA now...Cocky players who think they are better than everyone else. Duck just thought he was like everyone else...When in reality...He was one of the greatest human beings I have ever heard of. Rip City loves you Duck.
