Re: Shaq and Mike Bibby...

What up fellas,. I wholeheartily agree with Shaq's comments about bibby. WTH, you think Bibby's better than Iverson? How bout Stephon Marbury? no way, what bout GP, or even Tony Parker now. And even tho hes hurt, NO WAY IN HELL is he better than Baron Davis. Here the kicker, Bibby's not even the BEST point guard ON HIS OWN TEAM (YUP, I said it!), Bobby Jackson is better in my opinion. Only reason BJ doesn't start, is because he likes the tempo he brings off the bench. He always plays jackson more minutes in the 4th then Bibby does, sometimes even leaves him in at the end because hes MUCH better defensively then Bibby. The Kings record is BETTER when Jackson starts(when Bibby was hurt) then with Bibby starts, yup look it up.

Newayz, the Olympic committee really dissapoints me. We were embarrassed as a country last year, and instead of bringing the BEST players, they rather have IMAGE, quite sad in imo. Bibby is clean cut, his father is well known, thats why hes going. Even worse, how can we not have the coach who won 9 out the last 12 NBA championships not coaching? k, peace

Ya, they shouldn't really care that much about image. I mean, the world already sees the NBA. They already know what Iverson does. It's no secret. Why keep him bottled up when he wants to play. That's just dumb.

For one thing Tony Parker is french so he won't be on the US team. Phil Jackson would definitley coach it if he wanted to. Larry Brown is far from a bad choice anyways. I do agree with you that Baron Davis is better but he's a scorer more than being a true point guard. They need floor generals like Kidd and Bibby in their. GP already has two olympic medals and should let the other guys have a try at it. Marbury and Davis are scorers, which isn't bad, but why do you need scoring point guards when the team is all scorers already, you need a good mix to have a good team.

Why do you think Dream Team 1 was so good? They shared the ball like crazy and no one could stop them. If you watch footage of the disapointing 2002 World Championship team, it was all one on one. Baron Davis was on that team and all he wanted to do is shoot. Andre Miller didn't know how to lead that team either. Kidd proven his last Olympic appearance he can lead a team to victory. Your comment about how Bobby Jackson is better, he's a better scorer maybe, but still to put someone on the olympic team and he can't even start on his own team, just doesn't make sense. Plus he doesn't see the floor as good as bibby. Iverson will make the team, i would vote off people who already won a medal like ray allen not to be on the team.

The world is catching up to us pretty fast, so we can't jus go and pick the top 12 leading scorers of the league and make a team. Chemistry is probably what the olympic committee is focusing on, and thats the way to go.

I mean i could be wrong, who else besides Kidd and Bibby know how to lead a team and distribute the ball?

Dream Team 1 was good because they had the BEST players on the team bar none. Some of the best players ever. The olympic committee had a chance to put together a team that could (gasp) maybe even rival the talent of that dream team, but failed.
I never said put Bobby Jackson in the Olympics, was just stating that he was as good or even better point guard on the Kings. Defensively, Bibby doesn't even compare to Jackson.

lol Bibby gets 5 assists a game. Lol, kobe and t-mac average more. And lemme tell you something, Iverson,Davis,Marbury aren't on the team cause they're scorers(they all averae more dimes then Bibby), they aren't on the team cuz of THEIR IMAGE. End of story, its obvious who has the talent. These guys are incredble players, and could play unselfish pg if they were on the best team in the world, but they aren't.

Oh and one thing I left out in my first post, J. Terry and G. Arenas are better point guards then Bibby as well(doesn't mean they should be in the olympics). k, peace

Uh Iverson??? He can pass, shoot, steal, and defend. He's more dimensional then Bibby...... I don't care what you say Iverson could be a better back up then Bibby. Have you ever seen the All-Star games and the games he's been playing lately??? He's almost putting down 10ast a game!!!! Iverson beats him out in every category!! Didn't you see the comparisons on sportscenter?? Chemistry my ***, Iverson and that team will have chemistry because they played together in the all-star games........something Bibby was unable to do. If you ain't good enough to make the all-star team then what gives you the right to be on the National Team??? This was very disrespectful to pick up Bibby over Iverson, I hope AI gives the International teams hell when gets on the floor if he makes it, and if he can't make the team then AI will give the League hell to PAY!!!

                      That's my word!!

                        PEACE.

The only reason Bibby only has 5 assist per game because when he passes the ball, that person passes the ball again to another person then they score. If they made a stat about that, Bibby would be leading the NBA in that. Its not about assist, its about being a floor general, leading your team. Look how Baron Davis did in the world championships, he played like crap. Iverson will play on the team anyways, guarenteed. You have to take in account how bad a history he has at attending his own teams practices. The Olympics are in the summer, during the off season. You want people who are dedicated to be there and work their hardest. Don't you think that off season is valuable to Iverson to heal up and rest the injuries he gets during the season? But if he wants to play, i'm sure he's going to. Arenas and Terry are good, but they haven't paid their dues yet. There young and will get their chances at the next olympics or world games.

Sacramento is a great team, but no way were they even close to almost beating the best team in the NBA the past 3 years in the playoffs without Bibby. The ball is in his hands in the 4th, not Webber, not Peja...BIBBY. Who usually gets that call of duty? I agree that Marbury should have major consideration, but no one else.

If image is the case, so what if it is. Do you remember how Vince Carter acted in the 2000 Olympics. It was shameful and disgusting. The olympics is the celebration of sports and sportsmanships is very important. To see how the 4X100 track team acted when they won the medal, it was horrible to witness that.

Bibby is a dedicated player and will be a factor in USA beating every world opponent to a pulp.
