    Happy trails Shareef

One of the classiest guys in the league bids farewell. It's too bad his knees broke down because he was one incredibly reliable player for years. Too bad he had his peak years wasted on some terrible teams. The NBA needs more players like him.

    Good luck in retirement Shareef

It's just a bad luck. Must be hard for NBA players to suddenly retire and do different things.

Class act and one of the leagues gems for a few years.

Bad rap playing on so many bad teams but one of my favorite players. Had a sick post game before his legs gave out on him.

Damn, another retiree who makes me feel old. He's only 31 years old too, shame.

Damn one of my favorite players. Still got his Jersey (small, vancouver grizzlies), I miss ball down here.

I used to have the USA today all-american newspaper page on my wall with him, Vince, Marbury and a few others.

He was really nice at Cal.

It's been rumored for a while now that he was gonna retire, but too bad that it actually has happened. I remember how much I loved watching him play back when he was with the Hawks. I'm sure he'll be still be in the league for years to come though (of course just in some other capacity than a player)

I saw a triple overtime game on NBA TV a few days ago from 1999; Grizzlies vs. Celtics, and he was a hell of a player back then. I was surprised his name wasn't mentioned as much. He was just straight up hustle.

Ah he was one of my favorite players coming out of college. Despite the knee problems he had a pretty decent career. Wish him the best of luck.

This guy was class all the way. It's a shame that his body betrayed him at such a relatively young age. He should've been the main draw for the Grizz' PR back in the day instead of Bryant Reeves.

Vastly underrated player, dude had so many weapons from around 12 feet out. Very sad development. Good luck, pimp.
