Campaign Ads in EA's Live 09

I don't have NBA Live (and haven't since the good ole days like 2001 w/Tim Duncan on the cover) but looking at some of the screenshots, what's up with the campaign ads?

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

As if we're not bombarded with enough election stuff. Now I have to see it during video games too?

Better than some random product like freakin Axe deodorant. I like seeing everyone on XBL rocking the Obama (mostly) gamertags also.

Pretty lame, especially if the ad is not an advertisement that supports your candidate. I don't agree with this.

Re: Campaign Ads in EA's Live 09

The Obama campaign paid money to place his ads in the games just like if it were on TV, a billboard, etc. McCain can do the same thing, he just knows that it would be a waste of money because that's not his demographic, basically... Unless the old people playing Wii in the retirement home play Madden/Live...

If you don't agree with ads in games in a general sense, I agree with you. But that's unfortunately just another venue for the promotion and sale of product and we're going to have to live with it. Like I said, at least it's a campaign ad (which ostensibly might get someone to vote) as opposed to a corporate ad.
