Re: Nene
but for how long???
I hope he stays healthy, I do not wish injury on anyone ( I had my share too :-) ) -
Re: Nene
I think that Nene and Martin can provide a more balanced and overall better frontcourt than Camby and Martin were able to simply because Nene is an offensive threat and a good man defender whereas Camby was a non-factor on offense, not a good man defender, and relied too much on that jumper (which meant he was hovering around 15 feet constantly instead of doing his job and playing C). By all accounts he's healthy, happy, and going to have a nice season -- glad to see it, because he really is one of the nicer dudes I've had the peasure of meeting... very gracious with fans and just seems genuinely happy to be in the NBA.
And yeah, that was a nasty dunk -- he's got the ability to be Amare-like on the pick and roll and on the break... he's quick, strong, and loves to dunk.
My dude JR is scoring 17 per in limited minutes and is shooting a ridiculous percentage for a guy who likes the three. Looking great so far -- I'm excited for the season even though all the experts are counting the Nuggets out before it even starts. I think we'll sneak into the playoffs, and we're a more dangerous team offensively and defensively than last year... anything can happen in a playoff series... they just have to get there.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Re: Nene
He'll give you around 14 points, 8 boards, and 1.5 blocks if he has the season that I'm expecting him to have... and I'd guess that he'll be shooting about 55%, though that might go down if he starts to fall in love with his newly-improved jumper. He's just gotta get lucky and not get injured or have some other random BS ruin his season again -- he's got loads of talent and is one of the best physical specimens in the league (not many 6'11" 260 lb. athletic bigs with soft hands running around).
The Nuggets are going to be fun to watch at the least -- two amazing one-on-one players in AI and Melo that give you lots of highlights, crazy-*** JR Smith (who is the SportsCenter Top 10 in human form), guys like K-Mart/Birdman/Balkman making insane blocks/dunks/tip-ins... it'll be exciting even if they don't make the playoffs.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Re: Nene
Exactly. I'm one of the ppl who think that the Camby trade was needed, f.e. just to shake things and to make them play team defense. They like the role of underdog and who knows what might happen in April.
I hope Nene produces bigger numbers than that, but nobody really knows what he's capable of as he hasn't been playing much for the last 2 seasons.NBAComment
