I'm sure this is just the beginning though. Whats the worst trade you have seen a computer team make with another computer team and whats the best trade you've been able to get the computer to agree to?

Whats the worst trade the COM has made in NBA2k3?
I'm only deep into a franchise for the first time and I'm already seeing some trades like Yao Ming and a 1st round pick for DaJuan Wagner. Now maybe the computer only values Ming as an undrafted Rookie since I created him but he's still rated 81. I just got Keith Van Horn, Brian Skinner, and a 2nd round pick for P.J. Brown and Robert Traylor in my Hornets franchise. I then traded Skinner to Portland for Sabonis.
I'm sure this is just the beginning though. Whats the worst trade you have seen a computer team make with another computer team and whats the best trade you've been able to get the computer to agree to?Tags: None -
Re: Whats the worst trade the COM has made in NBA2k3?
The CPU doesn't value created players much at all, because it knows they have no room for improvement, among other things. You can always, ALWAYS take advantage of the CPU and make lopsided trades, just like most other games. I try to stay away from that by only making trades the CPU offers me.
I've seen some pretty wacky CPU-to-CPU trades though. The Lakers always seem to want to get rid of Kobe, trading him for the likes of Baron Davis, Stephon Marbury, Paul Pierce, and even Andre Miller and a 1st round pick...
I once saw Michael Jordan become a free agent after the first season and sign with the Nuggets along with Gary Payton. The thought of that actually happening had me laughing for days. Then Jordan was shipped to the Cavs for a 1st round pick 20 games into the season, who turned around just two weeks later and traded him to the Spurs for Scottie Pippen(!). If nothing else, the game's absurd logic and rabid wheeling-and-dealing is damn entertaining. Sometimes I have more fun tracking the ridiculous CPU GMs than I do actually playing the game on the court. Other silly trades that come to mind:
The Wizards trading Jerry Stackhouse back to the Pistons for Ben Wallace. Think Jordan might make that deal right now? I've also seen Rip Hamilton return to the Wizards in exchange for Jordan.
Utah trading Matt Harpring back to Philly for Todd MacCulloch and a pick. The CPU seems to have a penchant for returning players to their former teams, but I think it's just coincidence.
Seattle trading Ray Allen to Boston (where of course he barely played behind Pierce) for Eric Williams, Tony Delk and a 1st round pick (I just wished they had gotten Vin Baker back too). The Sonics then went 4-78 with the worst roster I've ever seen.
The Kings sending Mike Bibby and a 1st rounder to New Jersey for Jason Kidd, after Kidd had signed a long contract with the Nets the week before.
The Pacers trading Ron Artest and Jon Bender to Golden State for Antawn Jamison. Maybe an interesting deal, but Jamison then proceeded to sit on the bench in Indiana for 4 years, playing less than 20 minutes behind Jermaine O'Neal. He did win the Sixth Man award once though.
Even worse than the CPU's player-for-player trade logic is the way they stockpile great players at one position, then refuse to adjust their lineup, leaving superstars riding the bench. -

Celtics made a trade Paul Pierce for Elton Brand. Then the next season, they proceeded to sign Chris Webber in Free agency. So they had Walker, Webber, and Brand, all playing the same position with Walker getting the most minutes.Comment
