I don't know whats wrong but the link on True Hoop is broke as well
Whispers of "Lottery" can actually be heard in San Antonio. 48 Minutes of Hell: "The Duncan Era Spurs have never faced such a stiff regular season challenge. Not only must Duncan put up MVP numbers, but he must do so while elevating the play of last breath veterans and don't belong rookies. If the Spurs finish this next month at anywhere near .500, Tim Duncan will have played the best regular season ball of his career."Concrete evidence/videos pleaseComment

Re: Tony Parker out a month
You know what would be ridiculous?
If the Spurs get a lottery pick in the upcoming draft, just like when David Robinson got hurt and they landed Tim Duncan, and win the title next year.

Somebody needs to trade for the Spurs first round pick right NOW, we cant allow this to happen again. They are in my division for christ sakes.
I need, the Mavs and Spurs to get flabby and sick so the Grizz can step thru.Ericmaynor3.com

Re: Tony Parker out a month
This is horrible news for the Spurs... Considering it took 55 from TP for the Spurs to get their only win so far... And that was against the T-Wolves... Let's say it's 4 weeks exactly, thats 14 or 15 games... In the West, that could be their season right there, especially if Manu doesn't return sooner than expected.Comment

Re: Tony Parker out a month
That first round pick thing is such a Spurs thing to do, LOL. They'd end up with that magical draft pick and we'd get another three to seven years of Popp-ball dominating the league, haha.
The Spurs might get a low seed and have a tough first round matchup, but the 7th-10th seed race in the west usually isn't that insurmountable. 49 wins will get them in.Comment

on an unrelated note (unrelated to the video)...
I know this may sound like desperation, but really, getting this guy and giving him a chance could really help us get over a few humps in the upcoming weeks...
I'm talking about trading for Stephon Marbury.SAN ANTONIO SPURSComment

Re: Tony Parker out a month
I dunno, man...thats debateable. Kurt Thomas, Mike Finley, and Bruce Bowen are all playing like geezers, but Z and Marshall weren't spring chickens either. Drew Gooden was a decent piece but inconsistent, and Boobie was no better than Mason is now. Hughes was always hurt, and then we had the Wonder twins at PG...Damon Jones couldn't defend and Eric Snow couldn't shoot. Udoka has almost identical career stats as Pavlovic, and wasn't Oberto the starter on a championship team?
Looks like your team just needs to hit the glass harder and they SHOULD be able to hang around the bottom of the western playoff hunt until Parker and the Schnozz get back. A good defensive team with a superstar should at least be decent, even in the West (see 07-08 Houston Rockets).
The Cavs, with those subpar and banged up casts played .600+ ball against the WC over the last 2 seasons...no excuses. We give TD the nod as the best of the best...lets see him carry a band of decent defenders like James and Mac have.Last edited by HMcCoy; 11-13-2008, 03:01 AM.Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment

Our last 2 games have signified that, but our shooting is still shaky. Good thing Finley seems to be hot, and hopefully that continues. But seriously, when the rest of your team is shooting 39.5%, there's not much you can do.SAN ANTONIO SPURSComment

Re: Tony Parker out a month
we are a bad rebounding team without the injuries, so not much of that is going to change. At least LeBron can start the possession with the basketball. Duncan has to rely on his teammates to get him the ball. Plus, noone can honestly say that Tim Duncan hasn't played amazing basketball already this year. There's not really much more he can do. He's averaging 25.3 ppg (2nd most in his career), 10.3 rebounds, and shooting 56%. His defense has taken a dip though. We've seen the Spurs play less than average team defense, so everyone needs to do their part and rotate, to get that back up to par.

Re: Tony Parker out a month
I really don't see how yall can just say it doesn't matter because it isn't April. They might NOT RECOVER. What makes any one of you think that once Manu and TP get back the Spurs will get that thing rolling again. It will take time. They would probably ALREADY NOT be one of the top 10 teams when they get them back. So again yall that are making it to be so simple I really don't see why

Seems like yesterday when folks were ready to bury the Spurs for good.
... I think no one is alarmed because the Spurs have had injuries before, and never had any trouble making the playoffs. When they play the Grizzlies and the Oklahomas 4 times each, they'll most likely have enough wins to rally for a 7-4 seed by the end of the season. Nothing is guaranteed, but they are a great defensive squad who are well coached. Also, they'll probably pick someone up, have a young player step up and surprise some people.Comment
