Re: 11/10-11/16 NBA Discussion
He was always a superstar. It's funny what winning a Championship does to perceptions. He was playing this well years ago, but the team wasn't very good so he didn't get much recognition. He played better than Kobe and Lebron in their respective playoff series, but he didn't get a chance to do that in years past.Comment

KG has always gotten alot of credit because he only needed Spree and Cassell to get to a Conference Final, but now that i think of it Pierce's Conference Final team in 2001-2002 may have been worse.
Antoine Walker led the team in rebounding with almost 9 a game and Pierce was second with 6.9. Pierce led the team in blocks and steals. Other than a so-so Tony Battie, they lacked any real interior presence on defense or offense. Didnt really have a consistent 3rd option. Late addition Rodney Rogers gave them a nice spark late in the year and in the playoffs though. Kenny Anderson was at the point, hid Net's years behind him by this time, but he was still an excellent defender if i recall correctly.
Now look at KG's 2003-2004 squad: http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/MIN/2004.html
You have KG and Cassell as the go to guys and with Spree a great 3rd option. Wally Szcerbiak only played 29 games (was he injured? i dont remember.), but averaged 16.5 points per 36 minutes and 11 ppg in the playoffs. You also had Madsen, Olowakandi (he actually was second on the team in rebounding playing 20 mpg), and Gary Trent splitting time down low.
I think KG's best team was alot better than Pierce's best team personally.
What does this have to do with this week of nba action? Nothing, but that has never stopped me before.Last edited by Juice Malone; 11-11-2008, 01:50 PM.Comment

Re: 11/10-11/16 NBA Discussion
KG doesn't get the tech because the game was in Boston. Simple as that.
Unbelievable. If a role player on the Raptors, like Moon, would have done that, it would have been an instant tech.

The sad part about it, according to the highlights...all Jose did was challenge his shot. I don't even know why KG taunts him, other players aren't allowed to try and run KG off the shot? I know Jose is short but it is much better than just watching the guy take a open jumper.Comment

Yawn. Stop crying. KG doesn't get the tech because the reffing crew didn't deem it a technical.Comment

Re: 11/10-11/16 NBA Discussion
No he's right. If it's Joe Schmoe or even Ron Artest pulling that move, INSTANT tech and probably a 3 game suspension. But because it's KG, no problem.
Don't know how you got he was crying but going by what you said, there's alot of people in here "crying" also.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 11/10-11/16 NBA Discussion
Does anyone know about this NBA on TBS thing? I'm checking ESPN's NBA Scoreboard and its saying that the Minny/GS is going to be televised by TBS. Is it a mistake by ESPN or did I miss something? LOLComment
