Am I missing something? I've seen this happen a lot in the NBA. What's even more annoying is when teams start to foul when they're knowingly out of the game with like 30 seconds left. It's like they want to prolong the agony.

Fouling at the end of the game
Tonight, the Suns had pulled to within 9 against the Heat with about two minutes to go. After the final nail in the coffin and down 15 points, the Suns decided to start fouling with about 50 seconds left. Why would they wait? Wouldn't it make more sense to start fouling with 2 minutes left? That way, the Heat can't kill the clock, and they have to rely on their foul shooting.

Re: Fouling at the end of the game
I cant stand late game fouling when the game is out of reach. I think if a teams is down by double digits with under 30 seconds left and they foul, the other team should get a technical free throw plus the ball. I remember John Chaney's Temple team being down by a lot at the end of a game on the road and he kept fouling just be a dick.As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!" -

It gets a little ridiculous...actually very ridiculous. Rarely have I ever seen it work because most of the teams that do it only try it when they're down 10+ points.Comment
