Is Andre Miller great or what?

I've followed Miller since his days with the Clippers, then Denver and now the 76ers. I think he's a great PG who can score on just about anyone. He reminds me of Billups 3-4 years ago. I wish the Pistons traded for him instead of AI. But it doesn't look like the 76'ers gonna let him go. Anyway, I always enjoy watching him.

What do you think about this guy?

Good God No. I watch him in Cleveland a lot when he was younger. He was horrible in L.A. and Denver....well the Nuggets were fun to watch.

The biggest problem with Dre is since he can't shoot he doesn't stretch the defense. Since he is in the lane a lot his man often runs down court and gets easy layups if he turns it over or misses a layup etc....his transistion defense in general is terrible too.

I like his game but I would hardly call him great. He is an average NBA PG. He is scoring a lot now which doesn't exactly help his team.

Detroit might have been better off with Miller and Philly with AI. Retrade? DET-Philly

Are you really compairing Andre Miller to Chauncey of 3-4 years ago??
Did I miss all the big shots Andre hit to win championships????
Um no because they never happened, if Andre is so good why is his team underachieved this year??

As a Sixers fan I would welcome that trade in a heartbeat.

Miller is only scoring in bunches right now because Iggy has been waay off, and Thad Young disappears too...Dalembert is an offensive liability and NO offense should be ran through him.

Brand has been consistent, and Miller has been the second scoring option for Philly given the current struggles mentioned above.

I actually saw him make some big shots against the Pistons in the playoffs. I also think that he's a better defender than Billups. Come on, you can't really compare the Sixers to the Pistons, or you're implying that the Sixers should have been playing on the eastern finals? Anyway, Billups is history for the Pistons and I feel like Miller is the missing piece...before the Pistons go for rebuild.

Are you serious? The guy is a good pg. That's all. Besides, he's slow, he's brick city and gets blocked and crossed more than anyone else in this league.

Miller in Detroit lol what for?! he would be like a poorer version of Billups

He's so slow that he's getting to the rim at will. Gets blocked? I can't remember this happening as much as you describe it...and you wanna tell me that Iverson fits the Pistons better than Miller?

the idea of the billups-iverson trade was to have a go to guy for the playoffs

as soon as they figure out how to utilize him they will be good

miller is a billups type of pg, minus the shooting touch and defense that billups has
why are you so impatient with pistons

if it doesn't work out with AI he's off the books in summer

I would be happy if I were a pistons fan - the future looks bright

AI is one of my favorite players ever but the Pistons are a team that built on balance and I just can't see how a "I can get to the rim or shoot over this guy, I know I can" type of PG fits to this team. It's like putting Iverson on the Spurs, it just doesn't fit imo. Plus, the current team doesn't have much time, sure I can wait for the summer, but that's not the point.

I understand, but I suggest we wait and see what happens come april.

You don't know how it hurts knowing that I won't see any 40 or 50 point games(heck maybe even no 30) from AI this season

He is that other type of pg and I think that's the reason Dumars traded for him and not for a typical pg like billups was

First, I'm not sure AI can score 40's and 50's as he used to do. Second, I miss the old Iverson...but not on Detroit. he's a hall of famer but it's hard to see him succeeding in Detroit. Sure I'll wait and see, but this team doesn't have much time.
If the Pistons win it all I'll be happy twice - for the team and for AI who really deserves it, but it's hard for me to see it happening. Anyway, I'll wait, do I have a choice?

PS: Sorry, I didn't mean to make this thread a Pistons thread, I meant to discuss Miller.

Well defensively it would be an upgrade for the pistons, because Iverson's D is one of the worst. Steals mean nothing
