AI_Franchise03:

Gary Payton is number 11 on my list. Seriously, I'm not just trying to kiss up

I thought about trying to get him into the top 10, but he came up just short for me...

I'm apalled that I don't see KG or Duncan on many of these posts also. Trade Duncan to ANY team in the NBA and they will instantly get better, same goes for KG. The Magic, the Lakers, the Sixers, the Celtics, the Mavs, etc. would be better if you traded Duncan or Garnett for those team's current #1 guys.

Duncan and KG are 1 and 2 without a doubt. 3rd is debatable, but I'll have to choose Shaq, then TMac, then Kobe.
"Maybe I can't win. But to beat me, he's going to have to kill me. And to kill me, he's gonna have to have the heart to stand in front of me. And to do that, he's got to be willing to die himself. I don't know if he's ready to do that."

Um you guys are forgetting that the thread is about the best player not players, so if someone is not mentioned it could possibly due to people not thinking there in the top 5.

Most dominant...best...either way, I want Shaq.

This discussion is a complete joke. Put Tim Duncan or Shaq (when healthy of course) on any team and they will have at least or over 50 wins. T-Mac and Kobe are good players but they need a very good supporting cast for them to have winning teams. Duncan and Shaq do not need great players to have their team among the top teams in the NBA.

i think the best foward is garnett. duncan and c-webb are good too, but garnett is a great rebounder, good defender, dominant force inside, a pretty good jump shooter, and he is even somewhat of a good passer, for a power foward. the best center is (duh?) shaq. the best shooting guard is kobe by a hair. sure, t-mac leads in scoring, but kobe has a killer crossover, is a great shooter, can rip down rebounds, can make great passes, and plays good defense. oh, and he has 5 triple-doubles on the season. and the best point guard is steve "nasty" nash. some would say j kidd, but nash is a good inside scorer, is a great passer and perimiter shooter, and plays good defense.
