Why is Charlotte gettin another expansion team??

The reason there is no more pro basketball in Charlotte is because we are mostly College fans (UNC, Duke, State). They couldn'tr get enough fannies in those seats, so they moved. Ain't sh!t changed...

                Re: EXPANSION DRAFT

From my understanding, the fans in Charlotte are great. They supported their team fully when they first got there. It's because of ownership that the fans got disconnected to the team, and that's why they moved to NO. A new team should be great in Charlotte.

As for their draft, I have no idea how it works, but if they only get to pick a couple of unprotected guys from each team, then they are going to suck for a while, cause you know they are only going to be getting the scrubs (super scrubs even) from all the teams.

I hope that the NBA realigns all the teams and makes each conference even in team count.

For the Grizzlies/Raptors draft, each team was allowed to protect 8 players. Those are the only players that the expansion teams cannot touch. There are still some decent players 9th in the rotation for many clubs.

I guess the Lakers are keeping all their players.

I would probably hit up Sacramento and Dallas first. Then maybe Indiana and Detroit. All the top teams that are deep should be losing their 9th men.

I read on ESPN.com that Stern wants to realign the league into 6 divisions with 5 teams in each. One of the divisions would be Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Memphis, and New Orleans. Not sure about the others. Being a Hornets fan, I only remember the proposed Hornets division. I'll see if I can find the link for the realignment.

I would actually be in favor or realignment... but contraction instead of expansion. I dont expect this to be popular with anyone, but some teams do not get the support they need and the talent / star players in the nba seems somewhat dilluted.

I think it would allow for more attendance among the teams left, good schedules due to the new conferences (less travel for teams... etc) and funner games.
