I don't see how they possibly could have stayed together. That thing was a locker room or practice brawl waiting to happen. Everybody involved was sick of each of each other. If Shaq would have stayed Kobe definantly would have walked and not resigned with the Lakers. He was wanting his own team so bad it was killing him and costing his team titles.

Re: Shaq interview with SAS VOL. Talkin bout Mamba again
Come on man let's not start with that again. I didn't say he was the only guy to blame but I would put the majority of it on him. You can't deny though that the way he played against the Pistons in that finals was the epitome of selfish basketball. There is no doubt there is a different Kobe then than there is now.Comment

Re: Shaq interview with SAS VOL. Talkin bout Mamba again
Of course Kobe destroyed that team. He's not as special as he thinks he is. You put Tmac or Vince or Ray Allen on those teams and you get four, five championships easy. They'd shoot the rock, dump it in to Shaq and shut their mouths the way Kobe should have. It's amazing that they are so infatuated with him in Lakerland. Now they've put another team around him to carry him to the Finals, so he can suck it up again.
Now that Bynum is down, you'll see that KoME returns to his selfish ways. He hasn't changed.Comment

From all of the evidence that's out there, I'd say the owner, coach, and two players all had equal share in that team's demise.Comment

One day you'll see the light. The Lakers will be losers until they get rid of that man. They should have kicked him when they had the chance.Comment

Re: Shaq interview with SAS VOL. Talkin bout Mamba again
When I say that I put a lil more blame on him was cause of that finals against the Pistons. In my opinion that was the final straw for that TEAM to still play together. And most of the guys on that team and the coach put blame on Kobe for that finals. But I can see where you coming from.Comment

He was wanting his own team so bad it was killing him and costing his team titles.Again you guys kill me with this everything said about Kobe is hate and throw out these foolish statements like any of that was said at all. If you read my post I said he WASN'T the only person to blame. I said they way he played in the FINALS was selfish. Then I went to give him props and credit in saying there is a difference in the Kobe THEN and the Kobe NOW. Never once did I say he was interchangable or that what he was doing now is selfish. In fact I said what he was doing now is the OPPOSITE of what he did in that finals.
Also there's no point in comparing then and now, because it's clear as day he has changed.
I'm simply talking about the Shaq/Kobe years. There was plenty of blame to go around for a number of individuals.
Of course in their Finals loss, Kobe played like KoMe. That's also clear as day. That was a part of the demise.Comment

You can only have one alpha male in a group. When there's two, then what happened is inevitable, period. McGrady, not alpha, Wade, not alpha. You build around one alpha player and then get great others to join in. Sometimes you can have two alphas but not for long before there's a struggle. been there, done that myself."Well the NBA is in great hands but if I had to pick the single greatest player on the planet, I take Kobe Bryant without hesitation." - Michael Jordan, 2006Comment
