Although he's averaging 18 ppg, he's gone over 20 in alot of important games. We always knew he was good at 3's. Well, I didn't know he was this good of a shooter, though. I guess he really does deserve to be considered in "the big 3" name. And deservingly on this years All-Star team. R.A. is doing it!

What's the deal with Ray Allen? Underrated?
Is this guy HOF? For a guy averaging only 18.2 ppg, he sure makes alot of noise, and causes alot of frowns with his game winning buzzer beaters-which he's made alot of recently (for the last 2 years straight). This guy is on fire, and he's made it on to my radar. There's a few other players that may be underrated underdogs, but this guy really sticks out right now, to me.

Re: What's the deal with Ray Allen? Underrated?
Not sure if he is HOF yet but another ring combined with his career stats I could see him eventually being put in... To underrate Ray Ray would just show a lack of Basketaball knowledge pre 2000 Lakers Championships. Ray is one of the best shooters in our generation; he has put up numbers for multiple seasons kept a Sonics franchise relivant after GP and Kemp era was over, and he was a big part of bringing a Championship back to one of the most historically significant teams in the NBA -
Re: What's the deal with Ray Allen? Underrated?
Borderline right now on the Hall judgement. Fact.
I watched Ray for the Bucks, He has been shooting his way to the top of the league since he 1st debuted out of UConn. Ray used to jump too!...Ray could put a dunk on you in his early seasons with Milluakee and even early with the Seattle team's.
Hell he scored mid 20's for 9 seasons and his best scoring season was the year before he joined Boston last year. 26 points.
Career 21 ppg. 4 asst. 4 rebounds.
One might even say he has surpassed Reggie Miller as far as all-time, and Reggie is going to the Hall. The voice of reality.Comment

Re: What's the deal with Ray Allen? Underrated?
I would say he's underrated. Two years in a row not being named to the all star team (last year he was borderline) but he still should have been MVP.
Dude has been the most efficient, and prolific scorer of the Celtics the entire year. He obviously doesn't take nearly as many shots as he did when he wasn't in Boston, and he's had to sacrifice a lot. That's why he, Pierce and KG's numbers all dropped noticeably. I love Ray, and if he passes Reggie Miller in all time 3's then he should be in the HOF.
BTW, do you guys think he played his best basketball in MIL or SEA?Comment

Re: What's the deal with Ray Allen? Underrated?
One thing I really respect about Ray besides his shooting ability is his demeanor when he is out there on the court. Never gets too high or to low, he is one of the classiest players, and for that reason he is one of my favorite players playing today.Comment

Re: What's the deal with Ray Allen? Underrated?
I think he's a HOF'er. One of the best shooters of all-time, 9-time All-Star,
has a pretty good shot at becoming the all-time leader for career made three-pointers, has a ring and career averages of 21/5/4.
He's not a guarantee according to this but I think he'll make it.
It was funny as hell watching the game last night and listening to Clyde Frazier saying that Allen is now more of a threat because he's not just a spot-up shooter this year, can drive to the hoop and "like wine, gets better with age."
I don't think Clyde remembers the earlier part of Ray Ray's career if he doesn't think he could go to the rim.

Anyway, I'd say it's probably 70/30 that he gets in, we'll see."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: What's the deal with Ray Allen? Underrated?
Disappointed with him not making the all-star game but as Revis said I wouldn't say he was under rated because a lot of people acknowledge that he's one of the best shooters of all time and arguably the best in the league today (this may just be me being biased though).
Definetely Hall of Fame material, especially if he gets another title under his belt.Patriots

Good that someone points this out
It seems to me that it's KG & Pierce and even frikkin' Rondo but Allen is the one making clutch plays every game...
I saw the 4th Q in the NY - Bos game... Dude was on fiyaah
Oh and Ray Ray is without question a HOF'er... He's one of the best shooters ever with one of the most prettiests shots ever...

he's a 9 time all-star and one of the best shooters of all time. I would bet he's a lock for the HOF
Allen and KG are both locks. Pierce is the best Celtic right now, but he is probably borderline for the HOF imo, although he will probably get in also.Comment
