Incident at the Suns game last night...
I forgot to post this, but I will since I have remembered. I was at the Suns/Mavericks game last night, and they usually have some crazy stuff going on during timeouts. Well, they had a beachball race around the court, where 2 guys each got into a giant beachball they could run in, and they had to try and beat the other guy around the court. Anyway, something happend to one of them...their balls collided (don't take that the wrong way), and they both fell...well one of the guys starting running again but the other guy stopped, and you know what happend? He broke his ankle! I don't know how that happend, but they had to get him out of the ball, and carry him back to the locker room. If I was him, I would sue!Tags: None -
Re: Incident at the Suns game last night...
Why would the guy sue? And who would he sue, if he broke his ankle in the beachball or whatever? Isn't it his own clumsiness that brought that upon himself? If it was his job to do it and he willingly did it knowing the risks, I don't think he should sue. It's morally reprehensible, IMHO. I just don't understand how anyone could fail to take personal responsibility over something so little as an injured ankle. Unless the stadium conditions or some distraction caused the accident, it'd be wrong for him to sue as far as I'm concerned. -

He could sue the Suns for crappy beachballs. He could sue the other guy because he ran into him too hard. Those may not be good/valid reasons, but he definetly could sue.Comment

I'm no lawyer but I'm sure he signed a waiver of some kind. Teams would never let people do stunts like that unless they were free of liability.

Yeah, forgot to mention that...if he didn't sign, then he could sue, but if he did sign, then he can't. But still, being in a big plastic beachball, I didn't think you could get hurt...Comment

Re: Incident at the Suns game last night...
That's what's wrong with America's view of the legal system. They think they can sue over anything. If you got into a giant beachball and decided to run around a waxed hardwood floor as fast as you could with another guy doiing the same thing right next to you, and you ended up breaking your ankel, that's your hang up, not anyone else's.Comment

If he didn't sign then I'm quite sure they wouldn't let him near the court. I agree with you Will, we've become sue happy in this country. Kind of like the smokers sueing like mad. At what point do you put something in your mouth, light it on fire, suck in smoke and think to yourself, now how could this be bad for me?Comment
