Point Blank: How many teams do you think should be in the NBA?
As a fan of an outlier team I know that we are not wanted in the league, we do not benefit anybody we should be dissolved, contracted etc...

24 teams, 4 teams make the playoffs on each side. Conference semis, conference finals, and regular finals.Comment

2-4? 5-8?
Come on now. No one thinks there should be less than 20 teams. I think it's fine as is. The only thing I'd consider doing is make it 6 playoff teams per conference like the NFL w/ 2 byes each, and make the first round best of 5 again. Though, I think 1st round should be best of 5 either way, the fact that the first round takes so long is ridiculous.Comment

Oooh. I like the idea even if it's not happening anytime soon. Would you have 4 divisions of 6 teams each or 6 divisions of 4 teams each?MLB: New York Yankees
NBA: New Jersey Nets
NFL: Detroit Lions / New York Giants
NCAA: UNC

As stated in my previous proposal, just have the Spurs,Celtics,Lakers,Cavs, and Blazers run a season and have their games mean more since it's obvious, according to some, that those teams are going to be the only teams winning championships every year.#RespectTheCultureComment

It's okay, I'll take that shot. Maybe we should all start praising above average teams who may or may not make the playoffs.Too Old To Game Club

Here is how I would contract teams out of the league, if you have caproom and no superstar will sign with you. You GOTS TO GO

However, I will say, I think the amount of teams in the NBA right now is perfect, just get rid of a couple playoff spots.Too Old To Game Club

Re: Point Blank: How many teams do you think should be in the NBA?
You're really surprised that favorites have emerged 3 quarters of the way through the season? And that those 4 teams have won 8 of the last 10 championships?
Really?
If someone wants to be a favorite for winning a championship, they should start playing as well or better than any of those teams.Comment

Re: Point Blank: How many teams do you think should be in the NBA?
Aside from an inflated interest in the really big cities, I don't think people care one way or another where a team is located. What they really like is competitive, entertaining basketball. Any city that delivers on that will get love. Think about it, Cleveland was as far into the hole as teams go in terms of being in a town no one cares about, and being famously noncompetitive. One superstar changed all that.
With the increasing worldwide interest in basketball, a lot of teams is a good thing. I think the season is about ten games too long, but aside from that I'm happy the way it is. It's really about management for some of those lesser teams doing a better job of creating a winning culture.
If Durant stays, OKC will be talked about soon enough. That team gets a lot of support from its fans, and it's improving with very young stars. It's a little early to draw lines in the sand for them. Places like Memphis just need better luck in the draft, and better decisions overall.Comment
