And about Darko, many of the foreign players in the NBA today scored about that much when they were overseas, so you can't really rely on those stats to judge how good he will be in the NBA. Even Yao Ming, who I might add, had a great rookie season with Houston, scored roughly 10ppg in his foreign league..

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

Actually Yao averaged 32.4ppg in his last season for the Shangai Sharks in China. He also averaged 18.9 rebounds and 72% field goal shooting. However, I'm sure the Chinese local leagues aren't even up to half of that quality that the european leagues are.

Nowitzki average 21.4ppg and 8.3rpg in the German 1st division league..

What I was saying is how can scouts say he is capable of scoring a decent amount of points in the NBA if he only scores 6ppg? I'm not saying that he can't score more, but if scouts don't actually see him score large amounts of points, how can they say that he can?

In other years, I read that Yao only averaged about 10ppg, but I guess that doesn't include his final year with the Sharks.

That Nikolaz Tasdlkfjasldkjfasdofhadoifdsf guy for the Nuggets didn't play 'superstar' basketball when scouts saw him play in Europe, but he was still a first rounder..

I'm not doubting that Darko is good, but he's averaging 5-6ppg in some european league. How can any scout make an assesment that he's a "beast", and worthy of a #1 in the NBA draft, when he's a 16 year old that scores less than 10ppg in an overseas league?!

is this true!!?! I admit, i haven't done much research on darko. he's only averaging 6ppg?!

I can't find any stats from this year.. but this is what I did find..

                    2001-2002 Season
                    <ul type="square">[*]5.4 PPG[*]0.4 APG[*]3.1 RPG[*]1.1 BPG[*].487 FG %[/list]

Plus, you have to keep in mind he is sixteen years old, playing with professionals.
