Funny thing is that i'm not even a Wizards Fan or a Gil Fan(watch quite a few of their games only because of Steve Buckhantz and Phil Chenier)

I respect his game alot but some of.....you know what, I'll just drop it from here. But for folks who want to say he only cares about personal achievements and not about winning really have no idea what they're talking about.

I don't think nobody said he doesn't care about winning at all. But it is pretty obvious through his words and actions that he cares about himself more than he does winning. Those examples I gave you prove it and HIS OWN COACH said it. So I guess he didn't know what he was talking about either huh??

I mean you have never heard any player other than Gilbert say I'm going to go score 60 against these teams just because their owners,coaches,or GM's didn't put ME on the olympic team. Not once in any of those statements did he say anything about other players they where playing against,he didn't say nothing about helping his TEAM, or nothing about avenging a TEAM loss. He went out their to try to score as many points as possible cause HE was made at something that only involved HIM. That is a SELFISH attitude and their is no other way around it. And like I said before it's not like it happened just one time. This isn't the only ME first things he has done but these are by far the worst and ones that CAN'T be defended.

Just imagine how his teammates felt in those games where he just shot the ball everytime he touched it and was out there just playing for HIMSELF.

Eddie Jordan has said many a things that have contradicted what he has said originally during his time here, so i'd take what he would say with a grain of salt because he would say something different the next day about Gil.

Another FYI, Gil has said PLENTY of things where they could've potentially hurt the team as well but the fans and even his own teammates always knew he was doing it in fun and never to try and hurt the team. His own teammates in the past have even come to his support regarding this.

Is it annoying? Of course but in the end everybody(for the most part)knows he having fun.

Eddie Jordan has said many a things that have contradicted what he has said originally during his time here, so i'd take what he would say with a grain of salt because he would say something different the next day about Gil.

But see in this instance he said this after a game while he was STILL Gilbert's coach. Youdon't just come out in a post game press conference and call out your best player unless you mean it.

Another perfect example of how he cares more about GILBERT than his team or anything else. This fool said he would give up an ENTIRE NBA season just to play ONE GAME against Duke. Then he goes on to say he would score 80 to 85 points and WOULDN'T PASS the ball ONE time and shot everytime. That is a ME first attitude. Then you throw in the fact that he would play poker at halftime instead of preping for the second half and so on and so on. That is ME ME ME type of mentality.

And the thing is I USED to be a big Gilbert fan. But after he got a lil fame and started smelling himself he got out of control with it. Those actions that I have stated is what pushed me away from being a fan of his. I respect his talent and abilities but not his attitude and approach to the game. If he really wanted to he could be right up their with Paul and Deron as the best PG in the game but until he changes his attitude he will just be a high scoring chucker with no chance of winning a championship.

I know all about that because I seen all of that on a regular basis but again, Eddie Jordan is/was the same man who would call him out through the Media one minute and then 5 minutes later say he was the best player he's ever coached. You wanna believe Jordan go right ahead but i'll take what he says with a grain of salt because he's done that mess on a regular basis while he was here.

And again, everybody here including fans and his TEAMMATES always knew Gil's intent was to never put himself above the team because they always knew it was all good fun. But hey, if you wanna believe otherwise go right ahead, i'm just telling you the things i've heard and saw personally for the last 5 years.

Gil is not like that anymore..Those things that you pointed out, didnt' really bother me, because for one thing.. That's gil man, and mainly the media blows things up bigger then they are. Gil never had any problem with any of his teammates, they all love him and the fans do to. Gilbert said when he was making his comeback, that he wish he was out there with the TEAM to take them loses, instead of him being on the sidelines. It's not right for them to take the loss while he's on the sidelines. that doesn't sound like a Me person to me. This me me me ish is very overrated. Gil also said he's going to work with team during the summer so him and the team can get better next year. He's lifting with Javale McGee, he's shooting with Nick Young. Yes he jokes around, it's sorta like Gilbert being Gilbert type of thing, but Like I said you never heard a teammate call him out, they love his work ethic. Man you can't take that Duke thing serious, that's why he stopped blogging, media took things the wrong way, and he was scared that it took away from the team,.

I mean even he said he was wrong for those things I mentioned. If these thing are true then it is showing that he is maturing as a leader and player. I have NEVER questioned his work ethic or any of that. All I have questions is his motives sometimes. Which he all brought on himself. If he never would have said he was going out there just to score 50 plus then nobody would have said anything if he just went out and tried it. Like I said he has the potential to be right up there with Paul and Deron if he wants to. If he follows through with what he is saying it could happen. I just have to see it first to believe it.
