yup. they are using the refs but they still lose. WHAT A BIG SHAME! A DISGRACE FOR THE LAKERS.

How many different ways can it be said?

I guess it's fun for Haters to start coming out of the woodworks when a team loses.

absolutely. well, not FIXING a 4-peat for the lakers really. but trying to get big market teams into the championship series? extending series to get big game 6 or 7 ratings?

that's just how the league works. i mean, it's standard practice. the refs will help out as much as they can, if it's close.

oh, but making the first round 7 games wasn't a 'help the lakers' decision. it's just to make more money.

besides, it could be argued that a longer first round series would tire out Fat Bastard and he'll have a lot less left to face the spurs and kings once those series went deep.

I just think they should consider making some changes this off-season, and not just about money.

There is a conspiracy. I bring this point up all the time, but its so weird. Houston, L.A., Chicago, New York, they are the 4 biggest markets in the NBA. 22 of the last 23 NBA Finals, the finals featured one of these teams. How crazy is that? It just so happens the 4 biggest markets make it to the Finals every year. Im a Laker fan, but even I admit, there is some sort of fix in basketball.

Actually, I thought it was made quite obvious that Stern was helping the Lakers make it to the finals. The finals have to have at least one marketable team or city in order for it to be a success. This has been the case for awhile now.

You guys remember Larry Johnson's 4 point play? LJ knows damn well that there was no contact on that shot. Why was it called then? Because New York is a VERY marketbale city/franchise. Stern knew a Pacers/Spurs Finals would have been disastrous. He was terrified! Two "no name" cities in the championship? You can't sell that. Or that's what David Stern thinks at least.

Bucks/Sixers in 2001 Eastern Conference Finals. Remember when Ray Allen said that it was a conspiracy? Ever think that maybe it was? Do you remember that Game 7? The Bucks were getting absolutley no calls by those refs. Stern wanted the Sixers in the finals...period. Why? Because Milwaukee wass far from being a marketable team. Iverson in the finals made for better "drama" .

Making the first round 7 games? What kind of sh** is that? It's no question that Stern is pushing for the Lakers to win.

You guys are really overkilling this conspiracy thing...oh yea, im sure in the last seconds the ref is thinking..wait a minute, New York needs to be in the finals, let me call this foul....yea right, come on onw, please enough of this conspiracy crap already...this is the NBA not the WWE!

Yeah, those teams only made it to the finals because the NBA wanted them too. Those teams didnt have great players on their teams. It wasnt because those teams had Ewing, Jordan, Pippen, Kobe, Olajuwon, Drexler and Shaq. It was because the nba wanted them to be there. (END SARCASM)

If you honestly think the league is fixed, WHY DO U WATCH? Who would want to watch a sport that was predetermined or fixed?

Im a PAcers fan, and the 4 point p;lay for NY was a foul

Larry johnson oump faked, Antonio Davis went for it and hit his arm

He threw up a prayer and it was answered.

I think there is start treatment, but did hte ref tell LJ to hit that 3 and when to pump fake

Cause if he did, Indy need to get some of these "refs on payroll"
