Am I the only one that doesn't believe the Lakers are a LOCK to win the West like most people want to believe?

Re: Official 2008-09 NBA Playoffs Thread
Probably just you. LOL They're pretty much a lock with the way they've dominated. Anything less then a Finals appearance would be a complete failure for the season. The only teams that could give them trouble are Portland (they haven't beat them away) and New Orleans (they lost both home games to them).Comment

Re: Official 2008-09 NBA Playoffs Thread
Most people think they have far and away the best team up and down. Most people see 60 wins and think OMG.
Fact is when AB went down the Lakers looked miserable. Especially after they beat BOS and CLE on the road. Since those huge wins L.A. has looked lethargic to say the least, the bench mob is pathetic. Their bench is not what people make them out to be I've been saying this for a month.
Jordan Farmar HAS BEEN REPLACED BY SHANNON F'N BROWN
Sasha got paid so he let his game go on that decline
Kobe looks tired and old same with Fisher
They are not a lock to win ish especially since they don't play defense.Comment

I hope the playoff teams continue with the white outs and black outs, etc this year.#RespectTheCultureComment

Most people are ignorant though.

Kobe and Fish are getting old, but come playoff time, those two can flip the switch and take care of business. Not too worried about that.
Defense will always be a problem with this. I mean, even in the Kobe/Shaq days, their defense wasn't always good. And now, I still think they're too soft. Bynum can give them some toughness, but he won't, especially coming back from injury.Comment

Re: Official 2008-09 NBA Playoffs Thread
As long as the Mavs dont get #8 and have to play the Lakers, I dont care what seed they get, 7 or 6
It's a REALLY good thing they wont have to play the Hornets in the first round either. The mavs have more problems with NO than any team in the league. Dallas will have their work cut out and will be underdogs against anyone obviously, but their two worst matchups would be Lakers and Hornets. The Mavs best matchups would be San Antonio, Portland, or HoustonLast edited by ZB9; 04-12-2009, 05:26 PM.Comment

Simply because of last year
This years Lakers are a better team then last years Lakers. Andrew Bynum, Ariza, better D.
This years teams from the West are less talented then last years West teams.Comment

Re: Official 2008-09 NBA Playoffs Thread
Agreed. When the Lakers have lost, I think it was more underestimating the competition/not trying their best (similar to Cleveland losing to the 60 loss Wizards TWICE this year). When the playoffs come they're going to be in "kill" mode. I don't think I see any West team giving them too much trouble.Comment
